Romans 4:15

15 For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

1 Peter 2:1-25

1 Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all slander, 2 as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby to salvation, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good: 4 coming to him, a living stone, though rejected by people but chosen by God, precious. 5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Because it is contained in Scripture, "Look, I am laying in Zion a stone, a chosen precious cornerstone, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." 7 For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who do not believe, "The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone," 8 and, "a stone to stumble over, and a rock to trip over." For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed. 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 10 who once were not a people, but now are God's people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation. 13 Subject yourselves to every human institution for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme; 14 or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well. 15 For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people: 16 as free, and not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as slaves of God. 17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. 18 Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked. 19 For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God. 20 For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps, 22 who "committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth." 23 Who, when he was cursed, did not curse back. When he suffered, did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously; 24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose wounds you were healed. 25 For you were going astray like sheep; but now have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

2 Samuel 22:31

31 As for God, his way is perfect. The word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

Luke 16:15

15 He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among people is an abomination in the sight of God.

1 Corinthians 2:1-16

1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with superiority of speech or wisdom, proclaiming to you the mystery of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 When I was with you, I was weak and afraid and I shook. 4 My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith would not rest on human wisdom, but on the power of God. 6 We speak wisdom, however, among those who are mature, but a wisdom not of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are passing away. 7 But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God determined in advance before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age has understood. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, No eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things which God has prepared for those who love him. 10 But to us God revealed it through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For what person knows the things of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God. 13 And we speak of these things, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. 14 Now the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one. 16 For, "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who will instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Galatians 3:3

3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

James 3:2

2 For in many things we all stumble. If anyone does not stumble in word, this one is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.

Ecclesiastes 7:20

20 Surely there is not a righteous man on earth, who does good and doesn't sin.

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to the things which are ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1-39

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 so that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace; 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 12 So then, brothers, we have no obligation to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba. Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; 17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers with labor pains together until now. 23 And not only this, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? 25 But if we hope for that which we do not see, we wait for it with patience. 26 And in the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with inexpressible groanings. 27 And he who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints in accordance with God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. 31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and more than that, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 1:8

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
