²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of the sky, and over the tame animals, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creature that crawls on the earth." And it was so.

³⁰ Moses said to the children of Israel, "Look, God has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. ³¹ He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; ³² and to make skillful works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, ³³ in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all kinds of skillful workmanship. ³⁴ He has put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. ³⁵ He has filled them with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of workmanship, of the engraver, of the skillful workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of those who do any workmanship, and of those who make skillful works.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, ²⁰ for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

¹ Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. ² You know that when you were unbelievers, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led. ³ Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by God's Spirit says, "Jesus is accursed." No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," but by the Holy Spirit. ⁴ Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. ⁶ There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. ⁸ For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; ⁹ to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the one Spirit; ¹⁰ and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be? ¹⁸ But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired. ¹⁹ If they were all one member, where would the body be? ²⁰ But now they are many members, but one body. ²¹ The eye cannot tell the hand, "I have no need for you," or again the head to the feet, "I have no need for you." ²² No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. ²³ Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety; ²⁴ whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part, ²⁵ that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. ²⁶ When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. ²⁸ God has set some in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? ³¹ But earnestly desire the greater gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.

⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

³⁸ Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³ For I say, through the grace that was given me, to everyone among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. ⁴ For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members do not have the same function, ⁵ so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. ⁶ Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; ⁷ or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; ⁸ or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹⁷ Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift.

⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, that no one would boast.

²⁹ For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

¹⁷ All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

¹⁰ As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.
