Bible verses about "apologizing" | NHEB

Psalms 34:13

13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking lies.

John 3:16-17

16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

Matthew 18:15-17

15 "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. If he refuses to hear the church also, let him be to you as an unbeliever or a tax collector.

1 Corinthians 6:1-20

1 If any of you has a dispute against another, does he dare go to court before the unrighteous, instead of the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who have no standing in the church? 5 I say this to move you to shame. Is there not even one wise person among you who would be able to decide between a brother and his brother? 6 But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers. 7 Actually, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits among yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 No, but you yourselves do wrong, and cheat, and that against your brothers. 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor men who have sexual relations with men, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God. 12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything. 13 "Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods," but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? Absolutely not. 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For he says, "The two will become one flesh." 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee sexual immorality. "Every sin that a person does is outside the body," but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.

1 John 2:1-29

1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. 2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. 3 This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments. 4 One who says, "I know him," and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps his word, God's love has truly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him: 6 he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked. 7 Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard. 8 Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shines. 9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now. 10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young people, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you know the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young people, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 15 Do not love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not the Father's, but is the world's. 17 The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains forever. 18 Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. 24 As for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father. 25 This is the promise which he promised us, the everlasting life. 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you remain in him. 28 Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of him.

Hebrews 12:14-15

14 Pursue peace with everyone, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord, 15 looking carefully lest there be anyone who falls short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by it many become defiled;

Matthew 12:25

25 And knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

Ephesians 4:32

32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

1 John 4:7-8

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Luke 17:3-4

3 Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud, 5 does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs; 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Matthew 5:23-24

23 "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

James 5:16

16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
