⁷ He announced, "After me one who is mightier will come, and I am not fit to stoop and untie the string of his sandals:

¹¹ I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier, and I am not fit even to carry his sandals; he will baptize you with the holy Spirit and fire.

²¹ It is your vocation; for when Christ suffered for you, he left you an example, and you must follow his footsteps.
