³ Thou shalt haue none other Goddes in my sight. ⁴ Thou shalt make the no grauen ymage neyther any similitude that is in heauen aboue either in the earth beneth, or in the water that is beneth the earth. ⁵ Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me: ⁶ and yet shew mercy vnto thousandes among them that loue me and kepe my commaundementes. ⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vayne, for the Lord wil not hold him giltlesse that taketh his name in vayne. ⁸ Remembre the Sabbath daye that thou sanctifie it. ⁹ Sixe dayes mayst thou laboure and do all that thou hast to do: ¹⁰ but the seuenth day is the Sabbath daye of the Lord thy God, in it thou shalt do no maner worke: nether thou nor thy sonne, nor thy doughter, neither thy man seruaunte nor thy mayde seruaunt, neither thy cattel neither yet the straunger that is within thy gates. ¹¹ For in sixe dayes the Lord made both heauen & earth & the sea & all that in them is and rested the seuenth day: wherfore the Lord blessed the Sabbath daye and halowed it. ¹² Honour thy father & thy mother, that thy dayes may be longe in the lande which the Lorde thy God geueth the. ¹³ Thou shalt not kyll. ¹⁴ Thou shalt not breake wedlocke. ¹⁵ Thou shalt not steale. ¹⁶ Thou shalte beare no false witnesse agaynst thy neyghboure. ¹⁷ Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house neither shalt couet thy neighbours wyfe, his man seruaunt, his mayde, his oxe, his asse or oughte that is hys.

²² The lyght of thy body is thine eye. Wherfore if thine eye be single, al thy bodye shalbe full of light.

⁹ And he sayde vnto them: wel, ye caste aside the commaundement of God too maintayne your owne tradicions.

²¹ Examen all thinges, and kepe that which is good. ²² Absteyne from all suspicious thinges.

¹¹ and haue no fellowshyp wyth the vnfruitfull workes of darckenes: but rather rebuke them.

²⁷ Pure deuocyon and vndefyled before God the father is thys: to visite the fatherlesse and wyddowes in theyr aduersitye, and to kepe hym selfe vnspotted of the worlde.

¹² Happy is the man that endureth in temptacyon, for when he is tryed, he shal receyue the croune of lyfe, which the Lorde hath promised to them that loue hym. ¹³ Let no man saye when he is tempted, that he is tempted of God. For god tempteth not vnto euyl, neyther tempteth he any man: ¹⁴ But euerye man is tempted, drawne awaye, & entysed of hys owne concupiscence. ¹⁵ Then when luste hath conceyued, she bringeth forth sinne, & sinne when it is fynyshed bryngeth forthe death.

²³ Kepe thyne herte wyth all dilygence, for there vpon hangeth lyfe.

²⁰ And he sayde that defileth a man, whiche cometh out of a man. ²¹ For from within, euen out of the herte of men, procede euel thoughtes: aduoutry, fornication, murther, ²² theft, coueteousnes, wickednes, deceyte: vncleanenesse and a wicked eye, blasphemy, pryde, folishenes: ²³ all these euell thinges come from within and defile a man.

¹⁹ The dedes of the flesh are manyfeste, which are these aduoutrye, fornicacyon, vncleannes, wantonnes, ²⁰ Idolatrye wytchecrafte, hatred, varyaunce, zele, wrathe stryfe, sedityon, sectes, ²¹ enuiynge, murther, drounkennes, glottonye, and suche lyke: of the whiche I tell you before, as I haue tolde you in tymes past, that they whiche commytte suche thynges shall not enheryte the kingdome of God.

⁶ reioiceth not in iniquitie: but reioiseth in the trueth,

³ I wyl take no wycked thynge in hande, I hate the synne of vnfaythfulnesse, it shal not cleaue vnto me.

²⁷ Ye haue heard how it was sayed to them of olde time: Thou shalt not commit adultery. ²⁸ But I saye vnto you, that whosoeuer loketh on a wife, lustinge after her, hath committed adulterye with her alredy in his herte ²⁹ Wherfore if thy ryght eye offende the plucke him out, & cast him from the. Better it is for the that one of thy members perishe, then that thy whol body should be cast into hel. ³⁰ Also if thy right hand offende the, cut him of & cast him from the. Better it is that one of thy members perish, then that all thy body should be cast into hel.

¹¹ For the grace of God, that bringeth saluacion vnto al men, hath apered ¹² & teacheth vs that we shoulde denye vngodlynes & worldly lustes, and that we shoulde lyue sobre mynded ryghtuouslye and Godly in this present worlde,

⁵ Mortifie therfore, youre members whiche are on the earth, fornicacion, vnclenes, vnnatural, lust euil concupiscence, and couetousnesse, which is worshippinge of Idolles,

¹² All thinges are lawfull vnto me: but all thinges are not profitable. I may do all thynges, but I wil be brought vnder no mans power,

⁸ Furthermore brethren, whatsoeuer thynges are true, whatsoeuer thinges are honest, whatsoeuer thinges are iuste, whatsoeuer thinges are pure, whatsoeuer thinges pertaine to loue, whatsoeuer thinges are of honeste report: yf there be anie vertuous thinge yf there be anye laudable thinge,
