⁴ from the wyldernes and thys Lybanon vnto the great ryuer Euphrates: & all the lande of the Hethites, euen vnto the great sea towarde the goyng donne of the sunne, shall be youre coostes.

¹⁵ And the fyrre bushe sayd vnto the trees: yf it be true that ye wyl anoint me Kynge ouer you, then come and reste vnder my shadowe, & ye shall se that a fyre shall come out of the fyrre bushe, & waste the Cyper trees of Lybanon.

¹ And when all the kynges that dwel on this syde Iordan, in the hilles and valeys, and a longe by all the costes of the great sea, euen vnto Libanon, the Hethites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pheresytes, the Heuytes, and the Iebusytes hearde,

⁷ These are the Kynges of the countrey, which Iosua and the chyldren of Israel smote on this syde Iordan, westwarde, from Baal, Gad in the valeye of Lybanon, euen vnto mount Halak, that goeth vp to Seir. And Iosua gaue the lande vnto the trybes of Israell to possesse, to euery man his parte,

⁸ And sende me also Cedar trees, fyrre trees, & Algume trees out of Lybanon. For I wote well thy seruauntes can skylle to hew timbre in Lybanon. And se, my men shalbe wyth thyne,

⁸ Yea, euen the Fyrre trees and Cedres of Libanus reioyse at thy fall, sayinge: Nowe that thou arte laide doune, there come no mo vp to destroye vs.

¹⁵ Thou art a well of gardens, a well of lyuyng waters, whyche reune doune from Libanus.

¹⁵ His legges are as the pylers of Marbel set vpon sokettes of golde: His face is as Libanus, and as the bewty of the Cedre trees:

¹⁶ Libanus is not suffycyent to mynystre fyre for his offringe, and all the beastes therof are not ynough to one sacryfyce.

⁶ For thus hath the Lord spoken vpon the kynges house of Iuda: Thou art the head as Galaad is in Libanus. What wylt thou saye of it, yf I make the not so waste (& thy cyties also) that no man shall dwell therin?

²³ that thou dwellest vpon Libanus, & makest thy neste in the Cedre trees. O how greate shall thy mourning be, when thy sorowes come vpon the, as a woman trauelynge with chylde?

²³ Euen against the holy of Israel. By the hand of thy messengers thou hast rayled on the Lorde, & sayde: with the multitude of my charettes I am come vp to the heyght of the mountaynes euen along by the sides of Libanon, and haue cut of the hye Cedar trees and the lustye fyre trees therof euen to the wood of Carmel that belongeth therto.

⁵ The voyce of the Lorde breaketh the Cedre trees: yea the Lorde breaketh the Ceders of Libanus.

¹³ vpon all high & stoute Cedre trees of Lybanus, and vpon all the okes of Basan,

¹⁴ Shall not the snowe (that melteth vpon the stony rockes of Libanus) moysten the feldes? Or maye the sprynges of waters be so grauen awaye, that they runne no more, geue moystnesse, ner make fruitefull?

¹⁶ The trees of the Lord are ful of sappe, euen the trees of Libamis whiche he hathe planted.

¹² The righteous shall florish lyke a palme tree, and growe like a Cedre of Libanus.

⁵ Yea, I wolde be vnto Israel as the dewe, and he shulde growe as the lylye, and hys rote shulde breake oute as Lybanus. ⁶ His braunches shulde sprede oute abroade, and be as fayre as the olyue tre, and smell sa Lybanus. ⁷ They that dwell vnder hys shadowe, shulde come agayne, and grow vp as the corne, and floryshe as the vyne: he shulde haue as good a name, as the wyne of Lybanus.

¹⁷ Se ye not that it is harde by, that Lybanus shalbe turned into Charmell, and that Charmell shalbe taken as a woode?
