² My brethren, count it excedyng ioye when ye fal into dyuers temptacyons, ³ for as muche as ye knowe howe that the triynge of youre fayth bryngeth pacience: ⁴ and let pacyence haue her perfect worke, that ye maye be perfecte and sounde, lackynge nothynge.

⁶ And when the Lord walked before him, he cried: Lord Lord God full of compassion and mercy, which are not lightly angry but abundaunt in mercy and truth,

⁸ And he taryed seuen dayes, as Samuel had appoynted. But Samuell came not to Galgal, & the people scatered from hym. ⁹ Wherfore Saule sayde: bryng burnt sacryfyce to me & peace offerynges. And he offered burnt sacrifice. ¹⁰ And as sone as he had made an ende of offeryng burnte offerynges, behold, Samuel came. And Saul went agaynste him to salute him. ¹¹ Then sayde Samuel to Saul: what hast thou done? And Saule sayd: because I saw that the people skatered from me, & that thou camest not within the dayes apoynted & that the Philistines gathered them selues together to Machmas: ¹² then sayd I: the Philistines shall come doune vpon me to Galgal, yer I haue made supplicacyon vnto the Lorde. And therfore I toke a courage wyth me, and offered burnt offerynges. ¹³ Then sayde Samuel to Saul, thou hast done folyshly & hast not kept the commaundement of the Lorde thy God whiche he commaunded the. For at thys tyme wolde the Lord haue stablished thy kyngdom vpon Israel for euer. ¹⁴ But nowe thy kyngedome shall not continue. The Lord hath sought him a man after his own hert, & hath commaunded hym to be a captayne ouer hys people: because thou hast not kepte that which the Lorde commaunded the. ¹⁵ And Samuel arose, & gat him from Galgal to Gabaah Beniamin. And Saul nombred the people that were found with hym, aboute a syxe hundred men.

²⁸ For we knowe that all thynges worke for the beste vnto them that loue God, whyche also are called of purpose.

¹⁰ But thou haste sene the experience of my doctryne, fashyon of lyuyng, purpose, fayth, long suffering, loue, pacience,

² in all humblenes of mynde, and mekenes, and longe sufferynge, forbearinge one another thorowe loue, ³ and that ye be diligente to kepe the vnitie of the spirite in the bounde of peace,

¹⁴ O tary thou the Lordes leisure, be strong let thyne hert be of good comfort, and wayte thou still for the Lorde.

³ Nether do we so only: but also we reioice in tribulacion. For we know that tribulation bryngeth pacience,

³¹ But vnto them that haue the Lorde before their eyes, shal strength be encreased, Aegles wynges shall growe vpon them: When they runne they shall not fal: and when they go, they shal not be weery.

¹¹ strengthed wyth all myghte thorowe his glorious power, vnto al pacience & longe suffering with ioyfulnes,

²² But the frute of the spiryte, is loue, ioye peace, longe sufferynge, gentylnes, goodnes, faithfulnes,

⁷ Be ye pacyente therfore brethren, vnto the commynge of the Lord. Behold the husbande man wayghteth for the precious frute of the earth & hath long pacience therevpon, vntyll he receyue (the early and the latter rayne.) ⁸ Be ye also pacyent therfor, and setle your hertes, for the commynge of the Lorde draweth nye.
