² And the Angell of the Lorde appeared vnto hym in a flame of fyre oute of a bushe. And he perceyued that the bush burned wyth fyre, and consumed not.

¹ And when Salomon had made an ende of praying, there came doune fyre from heauen & consumed the burntofferyng and the sacryfyces. And the glorye of the Lorde fylled the house:

⁹ Wherfore, I thought from hence forth, not to speake of hym, ner to preach eny more in hys name. But the worde of the Lorde was a very burnynge fyre in my herte and in my bones, which when I wolde haue stopped I might not.

²⁹ Is not my worde lyke a fyre, sayeth the Lorde, and lyke an hammer, that breaketh the harde stone?

³ And there appeared vnto them clouen tounges, lyke as they had bene fyre, and it sate vpon eche of them,

¹¹ For other foundation can no man laie, then that whiche is layde, whiche is Iesus Christ. ¹² Yf any man buylde on this foundacion, golde, syluer, precyous stones timber, haye or stobble: ¹³ euerye mans worke shall appeare. For the daye shal declare it, & it shalbe shewed in fyre. And the fyre shall trye euery mannes worke, what it is. ¹⁴ Yf any mannes worke that he hath buylt vpon, byde: he shall receiue a rewarde. ¹⁵ If any mannes worke burne, he shall suffer losse: but he shalbe safe him selfe: neuerthelesse yet as it were thorow fyre.

⁴ Thou makest thyne aungels sprites, and thy ministers flammes of fyre.

⁴⁹ I am come to sende fyre on earth, & what is my desyre but that it were all ready kyndled?

¹⁶ Iohn aunswered and sayde to them all: I baptyse you with water, but a stronger then I cometh after me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to vnlouse: he wyll baptyse you with the holye ghost, and with fyre.

²⁹ For our God is a consumynge fyre.
