8 For by grace are ye made safe thorowe fayth, and that not of youre selues. For it is the gyfte of God,

Hebrews 11:1-13:25

1 Fayth is a sure confydence of thynges which are hoped for, & a certayntye of thynges which are not sene. 2 By it the elders were wel reported of. 3 Thorow faythe we vnderstande that the worlde was ordeyned by the worde of God: and that thinges whiche are sene, were made of thynges whiche are not sene. 4 By fayth Abel offred vnto God a more plentuous sacrifyce then Cayn: by whiche he obtayned wytnes that he was ryghtuous, God testifiynge of his gyftes: by which also he beynge dead, yet speaketh. 5 By fayth was Enoch translated that he shoulde not se death, neyther was he founde: for God had taken hym away. Before he was taken awaye, he was reported, of, that he had pleased God: 6 but wythout fayth it is vnpossybleto please hym. For he that cometh to God muste beleue that God is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seke hym. 7 By faythe Noe honoured God, after that he was warned of thynges whiche were not sene, and prepared the arcke to the sauynge of hys housholde, thorow the whiche arcke, he condemned the worlde, and became heyre of the rightuousnes that commeth by faythe. 8 By fayth Abraham, when he was called obeyed, to go out into a place, which he shoulde afterward receyue to inherytaunce, and he wente oute not knowynge whyther he should go. 9 By fayth he remoued into the lande that was promysed hym, as into a straunge countreye, and dwelte in tabernacles: and so dyd Isaac and Iacob, heyres wyth hym of the same promes. 10 For he loked for a cytie hauing a foundacyon, whose buylder and maker is God. 11 Thorow fayth Sara also receyued strength to be with chyld, and was delyuered of a child when she was past age, because she iudged hym faythfull which had promysed. 12 And therfore spronge thereof one (& of one whiche was as good as deade) so manye in multitude, as the starres of the skye, and as the sande of the sea shore whiche is innumerable. 13 And they all dyed in fayth, and receyued not the promyses: but sawe them a farre of, & beleued them; and saluted them: and confessed that they were straungers and pylgrems on the earthe. 14 They that saye suche thynges, declare that they seke a countreye. 15 Also yf they had bene myndefull of that countreye from whence they came oute, they had leasure to haue returned agayne. 16 But nowe they desyre a better, that is to saye an heauenlye. Wherfor God is not ashamed of them euen to be called theyr God: for he hath prepared for them a cytye. 17 In fayth Abraham offered vp Isaac, when he was tempted, and he offered hym beynge hys onelye begotten sonne, whiche had receyued the promyses, 18 of whom it was sayde, in Isaac shal thy sede be called, 19 for he considered that God was able to rayse it vp agayne from death. Wherfore receyued he hym, for an ensample. 20 In faith Isaac blessed Iacob and Esau concernynge thynges to come. 21 By fayth Iacob when he was a diynge, blessed both the sonnes of Ioseph, and bowed hym self towarde the top of hys cepter. 22 By fayth Ioseph when he dyed, remembred the departynge of the chyldren of Israel, and gaue commaundemente of hys bones. 23 By faith Moses when he was borne, was hyd thre monethes of hys father and mother, because they sawe he was a proper chyld, neyther feared they the kynges commaundement. 24 By fayth Moyses when he was great, refused to be called the sonne of Pharaos doughter, 25 and those rather to suffer aduersitie wyth the people of God, then to enioy the pleasures of synne for a season, 26 and estemed the rebuke of Christe greater ryches then the treasure of Egypte. For he had respect vnto the reward. 27 By fayth he forsoke Egypte, and feared not the fearcenes of the kynge. For he endured euen as he had sene hym whiche is inuysyble. 28 Thorowe fayth he ordeyned the Easter Lambe and the effusyon of bloud, lest he that destroyed the fyrst borne shoulde touche them. 29 By fayth they passed thorowe the redde sea, as by drye lande, whiche when the Egypcyans had assayed to do, they were drouned. 30 By fayth the walles of Hierico fel doune after they were compassed about seuen dayes. 31 By faythe the harlot Raab peryshed not wyth the vnbeleuers, when she had receyued the spyes to lodgynge peaceably. 32 And what shall I more saye? the tyme woulde be to short for me to tell of Gedeon, of Baroch, and of Sampson, and of Iephtae: also of Dauid and Samuel, and of the Prophetes: 33 which thorowe fayth subdued kingdomes wrought ryghtuousnes, obtayned the promyses, stopped the mouthes of Lyons, 34 quenched the vyolence of fyre, escaped the edge of the swearde, of weake were made stronge, waxed valyaunte in fyght, turned to flyghte the armyes of the alientes. 35 And the women receyued theyr dead raysed to lyfe agayne. Other were racked, and woulde not be delyuered, that they myghte receyue a better resurreccyon. 36 Other tasted of mockynges and scourgynges, moreouer of bondes and prysonmente, 37 were stoned, were hewen a sounder, were tempted, were slayne wyth swerdes, walked vp and doune in shepes skynnes, in gotes skynnes, in nede, trybulacyon, and vexacyon, 38 whiche the world was not worthy of, they wandred in wyldernes, in mountaines, in dennes and caues of the earth 39 And these all thorowe fayth obtayned good report, and receyued not the promys, 40 God prouydynge a better thynge for vs, that they wythoute vs shoulde not be made perfecte.

Hebrews 12:1-13:25

1 Wherfore let vs also (seyng that we are compassed wyth so great a multytude of witnesses) laye awaye all that presseth doune, and the synne that hangeth on and let vs runne, wyth pacience vnto the batayle that is set before vs 2 lokynge vnto Iesus the author and fynysher of our fayth, whiche for the ioye that was set before hym, abode the crosse, and despised the same, and is set doune on the ryght hande of the throne of God. 3 Consydre therfore how that he endureth such speakyng agaynst him of synners least ye should be weryed and faynte in youre myndes. 4 For ye haue not yet resysted vnto bloude sheding stryuynge agaynst synne. 5 And ye haue forgotten consolacyon, which speaketh vnto you as vnto chyldren: my sonne despyse not the chastenynge of the Lorde, neyther faynte when thou arte rebuked of hym: 6 For whom the Lord loueth, hym he chasteneth: yea, and he scourgeth euerye sonne that he receyueth. 7 Yf ye endure chastenynge, God offereth hym selfe vnto you as vnto sonnes. What sonne is that whom the father chasteneth not? 8 Yf ye be not vnder correccyon (whereof all are partakers) then are ye bastardes and not sonnes. 9 Moreouer seynge we had fathers of oure fleshe whiche corrected vs, and we gaue them reuerence: shoulde we not muche rather be in subieccyon vnto the father of spyrytuall gyftes, that we myght lyue? 10 And they verely for a few dayes, nurtered vs after their owne pleasure, but he learneth vs vnto that whiche is profytable that we myght receyue of hys holynes. 11 No maner chastisynge for the presente tyme semeth to be ioyeous, but greuous: neuerthelesse afterwarde, it bryngeth the quyet frute of ryghtuousnes vnto them whiche are therein exercysed. 12 Stretche forth therfore agayne the handes whiche were let doune and the weake lines 13 & se that ye haue strayght steppes vnto your fete, least any halting, turne you oute of the way: yea let it rather be healed. 14 Embrace peace wt all men and holynes, wythout the whiche no man shall se the Lorde. 15 And loked to, that no man be destitute of the grace of God, and that no rote of bytternes sprynge vp and trouble, and therebye manye be defyled, 16 & that there be no fornicator or vncleane person, as Esau whiche for one breakfast solde his byrthright. 17 Ye know how that afterwarde when he wolde haue inheryted the blessyng, he was put by & he found no meanes for to come therby again no thoughe he desyred it with teares. 18 For ye are not come vnto the mounte that can be touched, and vnto burnynge fyre, nor yet to mist and darkenes, and tempest of wether, 19 neyther vnto the sounde of a trompe and the voyce of wordes: whiche voyce they that hearde it wyshed awaye, that the communicacyon shoulde not be spoken to them. 20 For they were not able to abyde that whiche was spoken. Yf a beaste had touched the mountayne, it must haue bene stoned, or thrust thorowe wt a darte: 21 euen so terryble was the syght which appeared, Moyses sayde: I feare and quake. 22 But ye are come vnto the mounte Syon, and to the cytye of the lyuyng God, the celestiall Ierusalem: and to an innumerable syghte of Angels, 23 and vnto the congregacyon of the first borne sonnes, which are wrytten in heauen, and to God the iudge of all, and to the spyrytes of iuste and perfecte men, 24 and to Iesus the medyatoure of the newe testament, and to the spryncklynge of bloude that speaketh better then the bloude of Abell. 25 Se that ye despyse not hym, that speaketh. For yf they escaped not whiche refused hym, that spake on earth: muche more shall we not escape, yf we turne awaye from hym that speaketh from heauen: 26 whose voyce then shouke the earth, and now declareth saiyng: yet ones more wyll I shake not the earth only, but also heauen. 27 No doubte that same that he sayeth yet ones more, signifyeth the remouyng away of those thynges, whiche are shaken as of thynges whiche haue ended theyr course: that the thynges whiche are not shaken maye remayne. 28 Wherfore yf we receyue a kingdom which is not moued, we haue grace, wherby we may serue God, and please hym wyth reuerence & Godly feare. 29 For our God is a consumynge fyre.

Hebrews 13:1-25

1 Let brotherlye loue continue. 2 Be not forgetfull to lodge straungers. For therebye haue diuers receyued Angels into theyr houses vnwares. 3 Remembre them that are in bondes, euen as thoughe ye were bounde wyth them. Be myndefull of them whiche are in aduersitye, as ye which are yet in youre bodyes. 4 Let wedlocke be had in pryce in all poyntes, and let the chambre be vndefyled: for whorekepers and aduouterers God wyll iudge. 5 Let your conuersacyon be wythoute couetuousnes, and be content wyth that ye haue alreadye. For he verelye sayed: I wyll not fayle the, neyther forsake the: 6 that we maye boldelye say: the Lorde is my helper and I wyll not feare what man doethe vnto me. 7 Remembre them whiche haue the ouersyght of you, whiche haue declared vnto you the worde of God. The ende of whose conuersacyon se that ye loke vpon, and folowe theyr faythe. 8 Iesus Christe yesterdaye and to daye, and the same contynueth for euer. 9 Be not caryed aboute wyth dyuerse and straunge learnynge. For it is a good thynge that the herte be stablyshed wyth grace, and not with meates, whiche haue not profyted them that haue had theyr pastyme in them. 10 We haue an altar whereof they maye not eate whiche serue in the tabernacle. 11 For the bodyes of those beastes whose bloude is broughte into the holye place by the hygh priest to pourge synne, are burnt wythout the tentes. 12 Therfore Iesus to sanctyfye the people wyth hys owne bloude, suffered wythout the gate. 13 Let vs go forth therfore out of the tentes, and suffre rebuke with him. 14 For here haue we no continuynge cytye: but we seke one to come. 15 For by hym offre we the sacryfyce of laud alwayes to God: that is to saye, the frute of those lyppes, whiche confesse hys name. 16 To do good, and to distrybute, forget not, for wt suche sacryfyces God is pleased. 17 Obeye them that haue the ouersyghte of you, and submyt your selues to them, for they watche for youre soules, euen as they that muste geue accomptes: that they maye do it wyth ioye, and not wyth griefe. For that is an vnprofytable thynge for you. 18 Praye for vs. We haue confydence because we haue a good conscience in all thynges, and desyre to lyue honestlye. 19 I desyre you therfore some what the more aboundauntly, that ye so do, that I may be restore to you quickely. 20 The God of peace that brought agayne from death oure Lorde Iesus, the great shepe herde of the shepe, thorowe the bloude of the euerlastynge testament, 21 make you perfecte in all good workes, to do hys wyl, workynge in you that whiche is pleasaunte in hys syghte thorowe Iesus Christe. To whom be prayse for euer whyle the worlde endureth. Amen. 22 I beseche you brethren, suffre the wordes of exhortacyon: For we haue wrytten vnto you in fewe wordes: 23 knowe the brother Tymothe, whome we haue sent from vs, with whom (yf he come shortly) I wyll se you. 24 Salute them that haue the ouersyghte of you, and all the sainctes. They of Italye salute you. 25 Grace be wyth you all. AMEN.
