¹ A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord is my shepherde, I can want nothynge. ² He fedeth me in a grene pasture, and ledeth me to a freshe water. ³ He quickeneth my soule, and bryngeth me forth in the waye of righteousnes for his names sake. ⁴ Though I should walke now in the valley of the shadow of death, yet I feare not euel for thou arte with me: thy staffe & thy shepehoke comforte me. ⁵ Thou preparest a table before me agaynste myne enemyes: thou anoyntest my head with oyle, and fyllest my cuppe ful. ⁶ Oh let thy louing kyndnes and mercy folowe me all the dayes of my life, that I may dwell in the house of the Lorde for euer.

¹² For wysdome defendeth as well as money, and the excellent knowledge and wysdome geueth life vnto him that hath it in possession.

¹² that they myght sowe vnto righteousnes, and reape the frutes of weldoynge that they might plowe vp their fresh lande, & seke the Lorde, tyll he came, and learned them ryghteousnes.

²⁴ Then he which had receiued the one talent, came & sayde, maister, I consydered that thou waste an harde man, which repest were thou sowest not, & gadderest where thou strawest not, ²⁵ and was therfore afraide, and went and hid thy talente in the earth: beholde, thou hast thyne owne. ²⁶ His maister aunswered and said vnto hym: thou euyll seruaunte and slouthful, thou knewest that I repe wher I sowed not, and gadder wher I strawed not: ²⁷ thou oughtest therfore to haue had my money to the chaungers, then at my commynge shoulde I haue receyued myne owne with vauntage. ²⁸ Take therfore the talent from him, and giue it vnto him which hath ten talentes. ²⁹ For vnto euerye man that hathe shalbe geuen, and he shall haue aboundaunce, and from hym that hath not, shall be taken awaye, euen that he hath. ³⁰ And caste that vnprofytable seruaunt into vtter darcknes: there shalbe wepinge & gnashinge of tethe.

¹¹ Let not the busynes whiche ye haue in hande, be tedyous to you. Be feruente in the spirite. Applye youre selues to the time.

¹² and the Lorde increase you and make you flow ouer in loue one towarde another and toward all men euen as we do toward you,

⁸ let not the boke of thys lawe departe out of thy mouthe: But recorde therein daye & night that thou mayest be circumspect to do accordyng to all that is wrytten therein. For then shalt thou make thy waye prosperouse, & then thou shalt haue vnderstandyng.

¹⁹ Meate maketh men to laugh, and wine maketh them mery: but vnto money are all thynges obedyente.

⁷ The chyefe poynte of wisdom is, that thou be willing to optayne wysdome, and before all thy goodes to gett the vnderstandynge.

²⁹ Seyst thou nat, that they whyche be diligent in ther busines stand before kinges and not among the simple people?

¹ If thou shalt herken dilygently vnto the voyce of the Lorde thy God, to obserue and to do al hys commaundementes which I commaunde the thys day. The Lord wyl set the vp on hye aboue all nacions of the erth. ² And al these blessinges shal come on the and ouertake the, yf thou shalt herken vnto the voyce of the Lorde thy God. ³ Blessed shalt thou be in the towne and blessed in the feldes, ⁴ blessed shalbe the frute of thy body, the frute of thy grounde and the frute of thy catell, the frute of thyne oxen, and thy flockes of shepe, ⁵ blessed shall thyne aulmery be and thy store. ⁶ Blessed shalt thou be, both when thou goest out, and blessed when thou comest in. ⁷ The Lord shal smyte thyne enemyes that ryse agaynst the before thy face. They shall come out agaynst the one way, & flee before the .vij. wayes. ⁸ The Lord shall commaunde the blessynge to be wyth the in thy store houses & in al that thou settest thyne hande to, and wyll blesse the in the lande whyche the Lorde thy God geueth the. ⁹ The Lord shall make the an holy people vnto him self, as he hath sworne vnto the: yf thou shalt kepe the commandementes of the Lord thy God and walke in his wayes. ¹⁰ And al nacions of the erth shall se that thou arte called after the name of the Lorde, and they shalbe aferde of the. ¹¹ And the Lord shal make the plentuous in goodes, in the frute of thy body, in the frute of thy catell and in the frute of thy grounde, in the land whych the Lord sware vnto thy fathers to geue the. ¹² The Lord shall open vnto the hys good treasure, euen the heauen, to geue rayne vnto thy lande in due ceason and to blesse al the laboures of thyne hande. And thou shalt lende vnto many nacions, but shalt not nede to borowe thy selfe. ¹³ And the Lord shall set the before and not behynde, & thou shalt be aboue only and not beneth: yf that thou herken vnto the commaundementes of the Lorde thy God which I commaunde the this day to kepe and to do them. ¹⁴ And se that thou bowe not from any of these wordes which I commaunde the this daye ether to the ryght hande or to the lefte, that thou woldest goo after straunge goddes to serue them.

¹⁴ Lykewyse as a certayne man, redye to take iorney to a straunge countre, called hys seruauntes and delyuered to them his goodes. ¹⁵ And vnto one he gaue fyue talentes, to another .ij. and to another one: to euery man after his abylite, and straight waye departed. ¹⁶ Then he that had receyued the .v. talentes, went and bestowed them and wan other fyue talentes. ¹⁷ Likewise he that receiued two, gained other two. ¹⁸ But he that receiued the one, wente and digged a pit in the earth and hid his maisters money. ¹⁹ After a longe season the Lorde of those seruauntes came and rekened with them. ²⁰ Then came he that had receyued .v. talentes, and brought other .v. talentes, sayinge: maister thou delyuerest vnto me fyue talentes beholde I haue gained with them fyue talentes mo. ²¹ Then his maister sayde vnto him: Well good seruaunt and faithfull. Thou hast bene faythfull in litle, I wyll make the rueler ouer muche enter in into thy maisters ioye. ²² Also he that receiued .ij. talentes, came and sayed mayster thou deliuerest vnto me twoo talentes, beholde I haue won two other talentes with them. ²³ And his maister sayde vnto hym, well good seruaunt and faithfull.
