Bible verses about "confronting" | Mace

Matthew 18:15

15 Now in case such a brother do you an injury, go and expostulate with him in private: if he repents, thou hast saved thy brother.

Ephesians 4:29

29 let no obscene language defile your mouth, use only such as tends to edification, that it may be beneficial to the hearers.

Galatians 6:1-18

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, do you, who are spiritual, restore him with all gentleness, taking heed lest you yourselves be overcome by temptation. 2 bear with one another's infirmities, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 for if a man thinks himself to be considerable, when he is not, he deceives himself. 4 but let every one bring his own work to the test, and then he will have matter of glorying in himself alone, and not in another. 5 for every man must be answerable for his own actions. 6 Let him that is instructed in the word freely communicate his good things to him that teaches him. 7 be not deceived, God will not be mocked: for what a man soweth, that shall he also reap: 8 he that soweth to his vices, shall reap the deadly fruit of his vices; but he that sows to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap everlasting life. 9 let us then not be weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we be not tired. 10 therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good offices to all men, especially to the family of believers. 11 You see how long a letter I have writ to you with my own hand. 12 they who desire to make a figure in the world, constrain you to be circumcised, only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 for even they who are circumcised, do not themselves observe the law in other respects; but they dedesire to have you circumcised, that they may have matter of glorying upon that account. 14 but far be it from me that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world is as contemptible to me, as I am to the world. 15 for in the dispensation of Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but the new creation. 16 as many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy be on them, even upon the Israel of God. 17 from henceforth let no man give me trouble; for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. 18 Brethren, the favour of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. amen.

James 5:19-20

19 My brethren, when any of you deviates from the truth, whoever sets him right, may be assured, 20 that the retrieving of a sinner from his erroneous habits, is saving a soul from ruin, and cancels a multitude of sins.

2 Timothy 4:2

2 to preach the word with assiduity upon all occasions: reprove, censure, exhort, with the most tender persuasions.

Galatians 2:11-14

11 But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, for he was to be blamed. 12 for till certain Jews came thither from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, for fear of those, who were for circumcision: 13 and the rest of the Jews dissembled likewise with him, insomuch that Barnabas himself was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14 but when I saw, they conformed not their conduct to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all: if you being a Jew, live after the manner of the Gentiles, and not according to that of the Jews, why do you constrain the Gentiles to judaize?

Ephesians 4:25

25 Wherefore leave off the practice of lying, and let every man speak truth to his neighbour: for we are all members of one society.

Galatians 6:1

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, do you, who are spiritual, restore him with all gentleness, taking heed lest you yourselves be overcome by temptation.

Matthew 18:15-17

15 Now in case such a brother do you an injury, go and expostulate with him in private: if he repents, thou hast saved thy brother. 16 but if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that the remonstrances of two or three persons may have its effect. 17 if he does not relent, tell it to the church: but if he is not moved by the church, show him no more regard than you would to a pagan or a publican.
