Bible verses about "character" | Mace

Romans 12:2

2 and be not conformed to the present age: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may perceive what God requires of you is good, and acceptable, and perfect.

Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, my brethren, whatever has the character of truth, of dignity, of justice, of chastity, whatever can procure you esteem and reputation, in a word, if there be any thing virtuous or praise-worthy, let that be the object of your enquiry.

Romans 5:3-5

3 and not only so, but we triumph in tribulation also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, probation; 4 and probation, hope: 5 now hope will not deceive us, because the love of God is diffused thro' our hearts, by the holy spirit which is given to us;

Philippians 2:12-16

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obey'd the gospel, not only when I was with you, but much more now while I am absent, continue the work of your own salvation, whatever persecutions you apprehend: 13 for it is God that influences your desires and endeavours, out of his benevolence to you. 14 do every thing without murmuring and disputes: 15 that you may be without reproach, the inoffensive spotless children of God in the midst of a depraved and perverse generation (among whom you should shine as stars in the world, 16 you, who display the doctrine of eternal life) that in the day of Christ I may have the satisfaction of not having pursued my laborious course in vain.

2 Peter 1:3-11

3 It is thus his divine power has given us every thing conducive to life and piety, by making us acquainted with him, who has called us by his illustrious power; 4 by which we have receiv'd the most inestimable promises, that thereby you might become partakers of the divine perfections, after having escap'd from the corruption of a sensual world. 5 Do you on your part employ all your care in adding to your faith, fortitude: to fortitude, knowledge: 6 to knowledge, temperance: to temperance, patience: to patience, piety: 7 to piety, fraternal affection: and to fraternal affection, universal benevolence. 8 for if you are possess'd of these virtues and improve therein, they will prevent the knowledge you have of our Lord Jesus Christ from being useless to others, and unprofitable to yourselves. 9 but he that is destitute of them is blind or short-sighted, having forgot he was purified from his past sins. 10 Wherefore be the more diligent, my brethren, to secure your vocation and election by your virtuous actions, for by so doing, you will never relapse: 11 and thus you will have a free admittance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1-5

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 who has given us access by faith to that degree of favour, we are in, by which we triumph in the hopes of divine glory. 3 and not only so, but we triumph in tribulation also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, probation; 4 and probation, hope: 5 now hope will not deceive us, because the love of God is diffused thro' our hearts, by the holy spirit which is given to us;
