⁹ When you have come into the land, which Jehovah your God gives you, you will not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
¹⁰ There will not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, a psychic, he who practices soothsaying, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, ¹¹ or a charmer, or a medium, or a spiritist, or a necromancer. ¹² For whoever does these things is an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these abominations Jehovah your God drives them out from before you.

⁷ Then Saul said to his servants, Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at En-dor.

⁶ And he made his son to pass through the fire and practiced soothsaying and used enchantments and dealt with psychics and with sorcery. He worked much evil in the sight of Jehovah to provoke him to anger.

¹³ So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Jehovah, because of the word of Jehovah, which he did not keep and also because he asked counsel of a spiritist, to inquire of it,

¹⁸ Many of those who had also believed were coming, confessing and proclaiming their practices. ¹⁹ Now a considerable number of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and were burning them in the sight of all, and they calculated the prices of them and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver. ²⁰ So the word of the Lord was growing and prevailing in dominion.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are apparent, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, unbridled-lusts, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousies, furies, selfish ambitions, dissensions, sects, ²¹ envies, murders, drunkenness, revelings and things similar to these things; which I am telling to you beforehand, also just-as I foretold to you, that those who are practicing such things–they will not be inheriting the kingdom of God!

³¹ Do not turn to those who have familiar spirits, nor to the wizards. Do not seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Jehovah your* God.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

²⁷ A man or also a woman who has a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, will surely be put to death. They will stone them with stones; their blood will be upon them.
