Bible verses about "temptations" | MLV

Matthew 4:1-11

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And having fasted forty days and forty nights, later he hungered. 3 And the Tempter came and said to him, If you are the Son of God, speak, in order that these stones may become bread.
4 But he answered and said, It has been written, ‘Man will not be living on bread alone, but upon every declaration that travels through the mouth of God!’
5 Then the devil takes him into the holy city. And he stands him upon the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and says to him, If you are the Son of God, cast yourself downward; for it has been written, ‘He will be commanding the messengers concerning you, and they will be lifting you up upon their hands, lest you hit your foot against a stone.'
7 Jesus said to him, Again it has been written, ‘Do not test the Lord, your God.’
8 Again, the devil takes him to an exceedingly high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 and I will be giving you all these things, if you fall down and worship me.
10 Then Jesus says to him, Go behind me, Adversary! For it has been written, ‘You will worship the Lord your God and you will give-divine service to him only.’ 11 Then the devil leaves him, and behold, messengers came and were serving him.
