Praise Jehovah.

Genesis 1:1-31

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God fluttered upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good. And God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
6 And God said, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the expanse and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so. 8 And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together to one place and let the dry land appear. And it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth and he called the gathering together of the waters Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit (which has seed in it) according to their kind upon the earth. And it was so.
12 And the earth brought out grass, herbs yielding seed according to their kind and trees bearing fruit (which has seed in it), according to their kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. 15 And let them be for lights in the expanse of heaven to give light upon the earth. And it was so.
16 And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night and also the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
20 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of heaven. 21 And God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought out abundantly, according to their kind and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas and let birds multiply on the earth. 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kind. And it was so.
25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kind and the cattle according to their kind and everything that creeps upon the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let Us make man in our image–after our likeness–and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. 27 And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; he created them male and female.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have power over it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you* every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed. To you* it will be for food, 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps upon the earth in which there is life and to you * every green herb, for food. And it was so.
31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Exodus 20:8-11

8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you will labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Jehovah your God. You will not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates, 11 for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them and rested the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Acts 20:7

7 Now on the first day of the week, the disciples having been gathered together with us to break bread, Paul was reasoning many things with them, being about to go away on the next-day, and he was prolonging the speech till midnight.

Luke 24:1-53

1 Now on the first day of the week, from the deep fog of daybreak, they and some others together with them came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 Now they found the stone has been rolled away from the tomb. 3 And having entered in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, while they are perplexed concerning this, behold, two men stood by them in flashing white apparel. 5 Now when they became fearful and bowed their faces down toward the earth, then they said to them, Why are you seeking the living with the dead? 6 He is not here, but was raised. Remember how he spoke to you, being still in Galilee, 7 saying that it is essential for the Son of Man to be given up into the hands of sinful men and to be crucified and to rise up in the third day? 8 And they were reminded of his declarations.

9 And having returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 Now those who were saying these things to the apostles were: Mary the Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the rest of the women together with them. 11 And their declarations appeared like nonsense in their sight, and they were disbelieving them. 12 But Peter, having stood up, ran to the tomb, and stooped down and peered in. He sees the linen-strips laying alone, and he went away to his home, marveling at what has happened.

13 And behold, two out of them were traveling that same day to a village whose name was Emmaus, which was sixty furlongs distant from Jerusalem. 14 And they were conversing with one another concerning all these things which have befallen them. 15 And it happened, while they are conversing and debating together, that Jesus himself, having drawn near, was traveling together with them. 16 But their eyes were being held-fast so as not to recognize him. 17 But he said to them, What words are these which you are exchanging back and forth with one another, while walking? and you have a gloomy face, why?
18 But one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to him, Are you sojourning alone in Jerusalem and did not know of the things which have happened in her in these days?
19 And he said to them, What things?
But they said to him, The things concerning Jesus from Nazareth, who became a prophet, a mighty man in works and word in front of God and all the people; 20 and how the high-priests and our rulers gave him up to the condemnation of death and crucified him. 21 Now we were hoping that he was the one who is about to redeem Israel. But yet today, together with all these things, is bringing us the third day from which these things happened. 22 But some women from among us also astonished us, having happened to be at the tomb at daybreak, 23 and having not found his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of messengers, who said he was alive. 24 And some of those who were together with us, went to the tomb and also found it so, just-as the women had also said, but they did not see him.
25 And he said to them, O you foolish ones and slow in heart to believe upon all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not essential for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he was clarifying for them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew near to the village, where they were traveling and he was making-like that he was to travel farther.
29 And they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, because it is toward dusk and the day is far-spent. And he entered in to abide together with them. 30 And it happened, while he was reclining with them at the table, and having taken the bread, he gave-thanks and breaking it he was giving it to them.
31 Now their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he became unapparent from them. 32 And they said to one another, Were our hearts not burning in side us, as he was speaking to us on the road, and as he was opening the Scriptures to us?
33 And that same hour they stood up and returned to Jerusalem and found the eleven and those who have been accumulated together with them, 34 saying, The Lord was really raised and was seen by Simon. 35 And they were describing the things which happened on the road and how he was known by them in the breaking of the bread.

36 Now while they are speaking these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them and says to them, Peace is to you. 37 But they became terrified and fearful and were thinking that they had viewed a spirit. 38 And he said to them, Why are you disturbed? And why do questions come up in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, like you view me having. 40 And having said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 But still disbelieving this from joy and marveling; he said to them, Do you have anything edible here? 42 Now they gave part of a broiled fish to him and part of the honeycomb. 43 And he took and ate it in their sight.

44 Now he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, being still together with you, that it is essential for all things to be fulfilled, which have been written in the Law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms, concerning me. 45 Then he opened their mind to understand the Scriptures.

46 And he said to them, Thus it has been written, that it was essential for the Christ to suffer and to rise up from the dead in the third day; 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 Now you are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you, but you stick-around in the city of Jerusalem, until you should be clothed with power from on high.

50 Now he led them outside until they were in Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 And it happened, while he blesses them, he stood away from them and was being carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy 53 and they were always in the temple, praising and thanking God.
Amen.

John 20:1-31

1 Now on the first day of the week Mary the Magdalene comes in the morning, while being still dark, to the tomb and sees the stone has been lifted away from the tomb. 2 Therefore she runs and comes to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and says to them, They have taken away the Lord from the tomb and we do not know where they have laid him.
3 Therefore Peter went forth, and the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4 Now they both were running in unison and the other disciple ran quickly ahead of Peter and came to the tomb first; 5 and having peered and he sees the linen-strips laying; nevertheless he did not enter in. 6 Therefore Simon Peter comes, following him and entered into the tomb, and he views the linen-strips laying, 7 and the handkerchief which was upon his head, was not laying with the linen-strips, but has been entwined in a separate place. 8 Therefore, the other disciple also entered in then, who came first to the tomb, and he saw and believed. 9 (For they did not yet know the Scripture, that it is essential for him to rise up from the dead.) 10 So the disciples went away again to themselves.

11 But Mary stood outside at the tomb, weeping. Therefore as she was weeping, she peered into the tomb; 12 and she views two messengers in white sitting, one toward the head and one toward the feet, where the body of Jesus was laying. 13 And they say to her, Woman, why are you weeping?
She says to them, They took my Lord and I do not know where they have laid him. 14 And having said these things, she turned backward and views Jesus standing and did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus says to her, Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?
That woman, thinking that it is the gardener, says to him, Lord, if you bore him away from here, tell me where you have laid him and I will take him.
16 Jesus says to her, Mary.
That woman having turned around, says to him, Rabboni; which is saying: Teacher.
17 Jesus says to her, Do not be touching me; for I have not yet ascended to my Father, but travel to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father and my God and your God.
18 Mary the Magdalene comes, reporting to the disciples, that she has seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

19 Therefore being evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors had been locked where the disciples were gathered because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle, and says to them, Peace to you. 20 And having said this, he showed to them the hands and his ribs. Therefore the disciples rejoiced, having seen the Lord.
21 Therefore Jesus said to them again, Peace to you; just-as the Father has sent me; I am also sending you. 22 And after having said this, he infused them and says to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven to them by God; if you hold-fast anyone’s sins, those sins have been held-fast.
24 But Thomas, one out of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 Therefore, the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord.
But he said to them, If I do not see the pattern of the nails in his hands and may put my finger into the pattern of the nails and may put my hand into his ribs, I will never believe.

26 And after eight days his disciples were inside again and Thomas with them. Jesus comes, the doors having been locked and stood in the middle and said, Peace to you. 27 Thereafter he says to Thomas, Bring your finger here and behold the hands, and bring your hand here and put it into my ribs and do not become unbelieving, but become believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God!
29 Jesus says to him, Because you have seen me, you have believed, but the fortunate ones have not seen and yet have believed.
30 Therefore, Jesus indeed did many other signs also in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these have been written, in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and in order that believing you may have life in his name.

Exodus 12:16

16 And in the first day there will be to you* a holy convocation and in the seventh day a holy convocation, no manner of work will be done in them, except what every man must eat, that only may be done by you*.

1 Corinthians 16:2

2 Every first day of the week, let each of you place beside himself, storing up, if he prospers in anything, in order that whenever I come, no collections may happen then.
