Bible verses about "self-pity" | MLV

Psalms 118:13

13 You thrust greatly at me that I might fall, but Jehovah helped me.

Jeremiah 20:14-18

14 Cursed be the day in which I was born. Do not let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man who brought news to my father, saying, A male-child is born to you, making him very glad. 16 And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew and did not relent. And let him hear a cry in the morning and shouting at noontime, 17 because he did not kill me from the womb and so my mother would have been my grave and her womb always great.
18 Why did I come forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

Matthew 5:3

3 The poor in spirit are fortunate, because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.

1 Corinthians 6:19

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? And you are not your own;

James 1:1-27

1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes, those who are in the dispersion. Hail to you!
2 My brethren, deem it with all joy, whenever you fall into various temptations, 3 knowing that the proving of your faith is working out endurance. 4 But let endurance have its completed work, in order that you may be complete and whole, deficient in nothing.
5 But if anyone of you is deficient of wisdom, let him ask from God, who gives to all liberally and does not reproach any, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing in himself. For he who is doubting himself resembles a wave of the sea being blown by the wind and tossed around. 7 For do not let that man assume that he will be receiving anything from the Lord– 8 an indecisive man is restless in all his ways.
9 But let the humble brother boast in his elevation, 10 but the rich brother in his humbleness, because like the flower of the grass, he will be passing away. 11 For the sun has risen together with the burning heat, and dried up the grass, and its flower fell and the beauty of its face perished. So shall the rich man also fade away in his pursuits.
12 The fortunate man who is enduring temptation, because having become approved, he will be receiving the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God, for God is not temptable from evils, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted, when he is pulled away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Thereafter when this lust has conceived, it bears sin, and sin, when it has matured, gives-birth to death. 16 Do not be misled, my beloved brethren!
17 Every good act of giving, and every complete gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor a shadow of turning. 18 Having willed it, he gave-birth to us with the word of truth, that we might be a certain first-fruit of his created things.
19 So-then my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. 20 For the wrath of man is not working out the righteousness of God. 21 Hence, having placed away from yourselves all filthiness and the abundance of malice, accept the implanted word in meekness, which is able to save your souls.
22 But become doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. 23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he resembles a man considering his face (which was his from birth) in a mirror. 24 For he has considered himself, and has gone away and immediately forgot what sort of man he was. 25 But he who has peered into the complete law, the law of freedom, and has remained in it, this one, having not become a forgetful hearer, but a doer of works, this one will be fortunate in his doing.
26 If anyone among you thinks himself to be outwardly religious, though he does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart; this one’s religion is futile. 27 A clean and undefiled religion with our God and Father is this: to {F} visit {F} the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

James 4:7

7 Therefore, be subject to God and stand against the devil, and he will be fleeing away from you.

Psalms 13:1-6

1 How long, O Jehovah? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God. Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the death, 4 lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him, lest my adversaries rejoice because I am shaken.
5 But I have trusted in your loving kindness. My heart will rejoice in your salvation. 6 I will sing to Jehovah because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Romans 12:2

2 And not to fashion yourselves to this age, but be transfigured by the renewal of your mind, that you may be proving in you what is the will of God: the good and acceptable and mature.

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been crucified together with Christ. I am now no longer living, but Christ is living in me and that life which I am now living in the flesh, I am living in faith, the faith which is of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up on my behalf.

1 Peter 5:7

7 having tossed forth all your anxiety upon him, because there is care concerning you with him.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come-here to me, all you who labor and have been loaded down, and I will be giving-rest to you. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am meek and humble in heart and you will be finding rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my load is light.

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 No temptation has taken you except common human temptations, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to undergo, but together with the temptation, he will also make an outlet.

James 1:2-12

Philippians 4:6

6 Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, let your requests be made known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

Romans 5:3

3 But not only in this, but we are also boasting in our afflictions, knowing that affliction is working endurance;
