Bible verses about "sarcasm" | MLV

Exodus 14:11

11 And they said to Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt thus with us, to bring us forth out of Egypt?

Genesis 4:9

9 And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?

Proverbs 26:16

16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men who can render a reason.

James 3:1-18

1 My brethren, do not let many of you become teachers, knowing that we will be receiving a greater judgment. 2 For we all trip in many things. If anyone does not trip in speech, this one is a mature man, is also able to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold we put the horses’bridles into their mouths that they are to be obedient to us, and we direct their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, though being so-great and are driven by harsh winds, yet they are directed by a little rudder, wherever the impulse of the steersman is planning.
5 So the tongue is also a little member and boasts of magnificent things. Behold, how-vast a forest it lights with such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. Thus the tongue is designated among our members as what stains the whole body and ignites the birth cycle and is ignited by hell. 7 For every nature of beasts and birds, of reptiles and sea-creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature. 8 But no one from mankind is able to tame the tongue; it is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison. 9 We are giving-thanks to God and the Father with it and we curse men with it, those who have become according to the likeness of God. 10 A thanks and a curse comes out of the same mouth. My brethren, these things do not need to become so! 11 The spring is not gushing sweet and bitter water from the same hole in the ground, is it? 12 My brethren, a fig tree is not able to produce olives or a vine produce figs, are they? Thus no spring is able to produce both salty and sweet water.
13 Who is wise and knowledgeable among you? Let him show out of his good conduct his works in meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not a wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, physical, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is unrest and every evil matter. 17 But the wisdom which is from above is indeed first pure, thereafter is peaceful, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-pretended. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are making peace.

1 Timothy 4:7

7 But renounce the profane and old-wives’fables and exercise yourself to godliness;

1 Kings 18:27

27 And it happened at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is meditating, or he has gone aside, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened.

Proverbs 12:18

18 There is he who speaks rashly like the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is health.

Proverbs 18:21

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit of it.

Matthew 5:37

37 But let your word be, a Yes, yes; a No, no; and whatever is more-than these, is from the evil one.

Ephesians 5:4

4 and do not let obscenity, and foolish-talk or petty jesting, which are not proper, but rather thanksgiving.

Proverbs 26:18-19

18 As a madman who casts firebrands, arrows and death, 19 so is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, Am I not amusing?

Ephesians 4:29

29 Do not let any rotten speech travel from your mouth. But if something is good for the building up of a need, do this in order that it may give a favor to those who are hearing.
