1 I am the true vine and my Father is the farmer.

Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will be abiding in my love; just-as I have kept my Father’s commandments and am abiding in his love. 11 I have spoken to you these things, in order that my joy may abide in you and in order that your joy should be fulfilled. 12 This is my commandment, in order that you should love one another, just-as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love than this: in order that someone should lay down his life on behalf of his friends. 14 You are my friends, if you practice as many things as I command you. 15 I call you bondservants no more, because the bondservant does not know what his lord is doing, but I have called you friends, because all the things which I heard from my Father, I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, in order that you should go and should bring forth fruit and in order that your fruit should abide, that if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he should give it to you. 17 I command you to do these things, in order that you may love one another.
