Bible verses about "coveting" | MLV

2 Samuel 11:1-17

1 And it happened, at the return of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel. And they destroyed the sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.
2 And it happened at evening, that David arose from his bed and walked upon the roof of the king's house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3 And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
4 And David sent messengers and took her. And she came in to him and he lay with her (for she was purified from her uncleanness) and she returned to her house. 5 And the woman conceived. And she sent and told David and said, I am with child.
6 And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David. 7 And when Uriah came to him, David asked of him how Joab did and how the people fared and how the war prospered. 8 And David said to Uriah, Go down to your house and wash your feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house and a gift from the king followed him.
9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord and did not go down to his house. 10 And when they had told David, saying, Uriah did not go down to his house, David said to Uriah, Have you not come from a journey? Why did you not go down to your house?
11 And Uriah said to David, The ark and Israel and Judah, abide in booths and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open field. Shall I then go into my house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? As you live and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.
12 And David said to Uriah, Remain here today also and tomorrow I will let you depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he ate and drank before him and he made him drunk. And at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but did not go down to his house.
14 And it happened in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle and retreat from him, that he may be struck and die.
16 And it happened, when Joab kept watch upon the city, that he assigned Uriah to the place where he knew that valiant men were. 17 And the men of the city went out and fought with Joab. And there fell some of the people, even of the servants of David and Uriah the Hittite died also.

Matthew 6:33

33 But first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Micah 2:1-13

1 Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. 2 And they desire fields and seize them and houses and take them away. And they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
3 Therefore Jehovah says thus: Behold, I devise an evil against this family, from which you* will not remove your* necks, nor will you* walk haughtily, for it is an evil time. 4 In that day they will take up a taunt against you* and lament with a lamenting lamentation. And say, We are utterly ruined. He changes the portion of my people. How he removes it from me! He divides our fields to the rebellious. 5 Therefore you will have nobody to cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah.
6 Prophesy you* not, they prophesy. They will not prophesy to these, so reproaches will not depart. 7 Will it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah restricted? Are these his practices? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?
8 But of late my people have risen up as an enemy. You* strip off the robe with the garment from those who pass by securely as men turning back from war. 9 You* cast out the women of my people from their pleasant houses. You* take away my glory from their young sons everlasting.
10 Arise and depart, for this is not your* resting-place, because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction. 11 If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies, saying, I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink, he will even be the prophet of this people.
12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of you. I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture. They will make great noise because of the multitude of men. 13 The breaker has gone up before them. They have broken forth and passed on to the gate and have gone out there. And their king has passed on before them and Jehovah at the head of them.

Ephesians 4:28

28 Let the one who steals, steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working at what is the good thing with his hands, in order that he may have something to give to the one who has need.

Acts 20:33-35

33 I coveted no one’s silver or gold or garment. 34 You yourselves know that these hands attended to my needs, and to those being with me. 35 I showed to you an example in all things, that so laboring, it is essential to help the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more fortunate to give than to receive.

14 But each person is tempted, when he is pulled away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Thereafter when this lust has conceived, it bears sin, and sin, when it has matured, gives-birth to death.

Mark 7:20-23

20 Now he said, What travels out from the man, this desecrates the man. 21 For evil reasonings travel from inside, out of the heart of men, such as : adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, 22 greedy-acts, wickednesses, treachery, unbridled-lusts, an evil eye, blasphemy, haughtiness, foolishness. 23 All these evil things travel from inside, and desecrate the man.
