²⁴ He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him early.

¹¹ For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

¹⁸ Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not set your soul on making him die.

⁵ to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.

Let no one despise you.
