¹² Hatred stirs up fights, but love covers all sins.

³⁶ Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? ³⁷ Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

¹⁵ If you love Me, keep My commandments.

¹³ And now faith, hope, charity, these three remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I have become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. ² And though I have prophecies, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to move mountains, and do not have charity, I am nothing. ³ And though I give out all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up; ⁵ does not behave indecently, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil. ⁶ Charity does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, ⁷ quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Charity never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be abolished; if tongues, they shall cease; if knowledge, it will be abolished. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when the perfect thing comes, then that which is in part will be caused to cease. ¹¹ When I was an infant, I spoke as an infant, I thought as an infant, I reasoned as an infant. But when I became a man, I did away with the things of an infant. ¹² For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall fully know even as I also am fully known. ¹³ And now faith, hope, charity, these three remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it,

⁸ And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins.

¹⁹ We love Him because He first loved us.

¹⁸ There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God.

²⁹ And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord; ³⁰ and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first commandment. ³¹ And the second is like this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

³⁴ I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another. ³⁵ By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

¹³ No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

⁸ The one who does not love has not known God. For God is love.

¹⁴ And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

¹⁴ Let all your things be done in charity.
