¹⁴ Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve Jehovah. ¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

¹¹ And all the people in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. May Jehovah make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, for these two built the house of Israel. And may you be blessed in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem.

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me, ⁶ and showing mercy to thousands of those that love Me and keep My commandments.

²¹ And he spoke to the sons of Israel saying, When your sons shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What do these stones mean? ²² Then you shall let your sons know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

²² A good man leaves an inheritance to his sons' sons, and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

¹⁷ But the mercy of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness is to sons of sons;

¹ Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in His Commandments. ² His seed shall be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness stands forever.

²⁰ And I do not pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word, ²¹ that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. ²² And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are one, ²³ I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me. ²⁴ Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, that they may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me, for You have loved Me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father, indeed the world has not known You; but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent me.

¹ Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom, ² preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. ³ For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear. ⁴ And they will turn away their ears from the truth and will be turned to myths. ⁵ But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry. ⁶ For I am already being poured out, and the time of my release is here. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Now there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that Day; and not to me only, but also to all those who love His appearing. ⁹ Make haste to come to me quickly. ¹⁰ For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and he has departed to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. ¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is profitable to me for the ministry. ¹² And I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. ¹³ When you come, bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, and the books, especially the parchments. ¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith showed many evil things to me. The Lord will give back to him according to his works. ¹⁵ You also should beware of him, for he has greatly withstood our words. ¹⁶ At my first answer no one was beside me, but all deserted me. May it not be laid to their charge. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and that all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will preserve me to His heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. ¹⁹ Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. ²⁰ Erastus stayed at Corinth, but Trophimus I left sick at Miletus. ²¹ Try to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brothers. ²² May the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

¹² Therefore I will not neglect to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth. ¹³ But I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder, ¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is soon, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. ¹⁵ And I will also be diligent to cause you to always have memory of these things after my departure.

⁴ One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.

²⁰ But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

⁵ And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. ⁶ And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart. ⁷ And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

⁴ We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generations to come the praises of Jehovah, and His strength, and His wonderful works that He has done.
