⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. ⁵ You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. ⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah forever.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts are weighed down with headaches and drinking and anxieties of this life; and that day should suddenly come on you; ³⁵ for it shall come as a snare on all those sitting on the face of the whole earth. ³⁶ Watch therefore, praying in every season that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things which shall occur, and to stand before the Son of Man.

¹⁹ He spoke this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, Follow Me. ²⁰ Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following (the one who also leaned on His breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he who betrays You?) ²¹ Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus, Lord, and what of this one? ²² Jesus said to him, If I desire that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.

²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.

⁸ Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.

³² But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father. ³³ Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ As a man going away, leaving his house, and giving authority to his servants, and each man's work to him, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. ³⁵ Then you watch, for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or early; ³⁶ lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you, I say to all. Watch.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

¹⁰ That which has been is named already, and it is known that he is man. And he is not able to contend with Him who is mightier than he.

⁵ Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I consecrated you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

⁹ A man's heart plans his way, but Jehovah directs his steps.

¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

¹¹ For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
