¹ False balances are hateful to Jehovah; but a just weight is His delight.

³⁴ I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another. ³⁵ By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹ Therefore you are without excuse, O man, everyone who judges; for in that in which you judge another, you condemn yourself, for you who judge do the same things.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. ¹³ Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death.

¹ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? ² Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? ³ Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? ⁴ Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life. ⁵ For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection; ⁶ knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin. ⁷ For he who died has been justified from sin. ⁸ But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, ⁹ knowing that when Christ was raised from the dead, He dies no more; death no longer has dominion over Him. ¹⁰ For in that He died, He died to sin once; but in that He lives, He lives to God. ¹¹ Likewise count yourselves also to be truly dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. ¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. ¹³ Do not yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God, as one alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. ¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace. ¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under grace? Let it not be! ¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey; whether it is of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness. ¹⁷ But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ¹⁸ Then being made free from sin, you became the slaves of righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak in the manner of men because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you have yielded your members as slaves to uncleanness, and to lawless act unto lawless act, even so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto holiness. ²⁰ For when you were the slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness. ²¹ What fruit did you have then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. ²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²¹ Let purity and uprightness keep me; for I wait on You.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I have become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. ² And though I have prophecies, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to move mountains, and do not have charity, I am nothing. ³ And though I give out all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up; ⁵ does not behave indecently, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil. ⁶ Charity does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, ⁷ quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Charity never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be abolished; if tongues, they shall cease; if knowledge, it will be abolished. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when the perfect thing comes, then that which is in part will be caused to cease. ¹¹ When I was an infant, I spoke as an infant, I thought as an infant, I reasoned as an infant. But when I became a man, I did away with the things of an infant. ¹² For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall fully know even as I also am fully known. ¹³ And now faith, hope, charity, these three remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

⁸ Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law. ⁹ For: "Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not lust;" and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." ¹⁰ Love works no ill to its neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.

¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished to every good work.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
