¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of Jehovah, my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him I will trust. ³ Surely He will deliver you from the fowler's trap and from the destroying plague. ⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall trust. His truth shall be your shield, and buckler. ⁵ You shall not fear the terror by night; nor because of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ nor for the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. ⁸ Only with your eyes you shall look and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if You have made the Most High Your dwelling-place, ¹⁰ no evil shall befall You, nor shall any plague come near Your dwelling. ¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, lest You dash your foot against a stone. ¹³ You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the jackal You shall trample underfoot. ¹⁴ Because He has set His love on Me, therefore I will deliver Him; I will set Him on high, because He has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call on Me, and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in trouble; I will deliver Him, and honor Him. ¹⁶ With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

⁷ Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap. ⁸ For he sowing to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he sowing to the Spirit will reap life everlasting from the Spirit. ⁹ But we should not lose heart in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.

³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹² teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world,

¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted just as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), ³ so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth. ⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. ⁵ Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, ⁷ with good will doing service as to the Lord and not to men ⁸ (knowing that whatever good thing he does, he shall receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or a freeman). ⁹ And masters, do the same things to them, forbearing threatening, knowing that your Master also is in Heaven. There is no respect of persons with Him. ¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ¹³ Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Therefore stand, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness ¹⁵ and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, ¹⁸ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. ¹⁹ And pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in bonds; so that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. ²¹ But, so that you also may know my affairs and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things, ²² whom I have sent to you for the same purpose, that you might know our affairs and that he might comfort your hearts. ²³ Peace to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused; I stretched out my hand, and no one paid attention; ²⁵ but you have despised all my advice, and would have none of my warning. ²⁶ I also will laugh at your trouble; I will mock when your fear comes; ²⁷ when your fear comes as a wasting away, and your ruin comes like a tempest when trouble and pain come upon you. ²⁸ Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me; ²⁹ instead they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah. ³⁰ They would have none of my counsel; they despised all my correction, ³¹ and they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own desires. ³² For the turning away of the simple kills them, and the ease of fools destroys them. ³³ But whoever listens to me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

¹⁷ Therefore to him who knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.

²⁰ Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.

¹ Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but of God; the authorities that exist are ordained by God. ² So that the one resisting the authority resists the ordinance of God; and the ones who resist will receive judgment to themselves. ³ For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire to be not afraid of the authority? Do the good, and you shall have praise from it. ⁴ For it is a servant of God to you for good. For if you practice evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, a revenger for wrath on him who does evil. ⁵ Therefore you must be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience' sake. ⁶ For because of this you also pay taxes. For they are God's servants, always giving attention to this very thing. ⁷ Therefore give to all their dues; to the one due tax, the tax; tribute to whom tribute is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due. ⁸ Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law. ⁹ For: "Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not lust;" and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." ¹⁰ Love works no ill to its neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law. ¹¹ This also, knowing the time, that it is already time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand; therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. ¹³ Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousings and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.
