²⁰ The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, nor shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him. ²¹ But if the wicked will turn from all his sins which he has committed, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

³ and said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

³² And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself.

¹¹ in whom also we have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His own will,

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, lest anyone should boast. ¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

⁴ according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

¹⁷ Then faith is of hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. ³⁰ But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified.

¹³ As it is written, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." ¹⁴ What shall we say then? Is there not unrighteousness with God? Let it not be!

¹¹ For this commandment which I command you today is not hidden from you, neither is it far off. ¹² It is not in Heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to Heaven, and bring it to us, so that we may hear it and do it? ¹³ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us to the region beyond the sea, and bring it to us, so that we may hear it and do it? ¹⁴ But the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may do it. ¹⁵ Behold! I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil, ¹⁶ in that I command you today to love Jehovah your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, so that you may live and multiply. And Jehovah your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it. ¹⁷ But if you turn away your heart, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, ¹⁸ I declare to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days on the land where you pass over Jordan to go to possess it. ¹⁹ I call Heaven and earth to record today against you. I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your seed may live, ²⁰ so that you may love Jehovah your God, and that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, so that you may dwell in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it to them.

⁵ For Moses writes of the righteousness which is of the Law, "The man who does those things shall live by them." ⁶ But the righteousness of faith says this: "Do not say in your heart, Who shall ascend into Heaven?" that is, to bring Christ down; ⁷ or "Who shall descend into the deep?"; that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead. ⁸ But what does it say? "The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart"; that is, the Word of Faith which we proclaim; ⁹ Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. ¹¹ For the Scripture says, "Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame." ¹² For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call on Him. ¹³ For everyone, "whoever shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

¹⁶ So then it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of God, the One showing mercy.

⁵ having predestined us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
