¹ And Adam knew Eve his wife. And she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from Jehovah. ² And she bore again, his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. ³ And in the end of days, it happened, Cain brought to Jehovah an offering of the fruit of the ground. ⁴ And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering, ⁵ but He did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain glowed with anger, and his face fell. ⁶ And Jehovah said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed? And why did your face fall? ⁷ If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door; and its desire is for you, and you shall rule over it. ⁸ And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. ⁹ And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? ¹⁰ And He said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to Me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed more than the ground which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² When you till the ground, it will not again give its strength to you. And you shall be a vagabond and a fugitive in the earth. ¹³ And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. ¹⁴ Behold! You have driven me out from the face of the earth today, and I shall be hidden from Your face. And I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth, and it shall be that anyone who finds me shall kill me. ¹⁵ And Jehovah said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain shall be avenged seven times. And Jehovah set a mark upon Cain so that anyone who found him should not kill him. ¹⁶ And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah and lived in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. ¹⁷ And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. ¹⁸ And Irad was born to Enoch. And Irad fathered Mehujael. And Mehujael fathered Methusael. And Methusael fathered Lamech. ¹⁹ And Lamech took two wives to himself. The name of the first one was Adah, and the name of the other was Zillah. ²⁰ And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents, and with cattle. ²¹ And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those playing the harp and the organ. ²² And Zillah also bore Tubalcain, the hammerer of every engraving tool of bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. ²³ And Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. For I have killed a man because of my wound, and a young man because of my hurt. ²⁴ For Cain is avenged seven times, and Lamech seventy-seven times. ²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again. And she bore a son, and called his name Seth. For she said, God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him. ²⁶ And there was also a son born to Seth, and he called his name Enos. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

³⁰ And answering, Jesus said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothing and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. ³¹ And by coincidence a certain priest came down that way and seeing him, he passed by on the opposite side. ³² And in the same way a Levite, also being at the place, coming and seeing him, he passed on the opposite side. ³³ But a certain traveling Samaritan came upon him, and seeing him, he was filled with pity. ³⁴ And coming near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. ³⁵ And going on the next day, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him. And whatever more you spend, when I come again I will repay you. ³⁶ Then which of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him who fell among the robbers? ³⁷ And he said, The one doing the deed of mercy to him. And Jesus said to him, Go and do likewise.

¹ And God spoke all these words, saying, ² I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ You shall have no other gods before Me. ⁴ You shall not make to yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. ⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me, ⁶ and showing mercy to thousands of those that love Me and keep My commandments. ⁷ You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain. For Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain. ⁸ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days you shall labor and do all your work. ¹⁰ But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Jehovah your God. You shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger within your gates. ¹¹ For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and sanctified it. ¹² Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long upon the land which Jehovah your God gives you. ¹³ You shall not kill. ¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery. ¹⁵ You shall not steal. ¹⁶ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ¹⁷ You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is your neighbor's. ¹⁸ And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw, they trembled, and stood afar off. ¹⁹ And they said to Moses, You speak with us, and we will hear. But let not God speak with us, lest we die. ²⁰ And Moses said to the people, Do not fear, for God has come to test you, and so that His fear may be before your faces, so that you may not sin. ²¹ And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. ²² And Jehovah said to Moses, So you shall say to the sons of Israel, You have seen that I have talked with you from the heavens. ²³ You shall not make with Me gods of silver, neither shall you make to you gods of gold. ²⁴ You shall make an altar of earth to Me, and shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In all places where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you. ²⁵ And if you will make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of cut stone. For if you lift up your tool upon it, you have defiled it. ²⁶ And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, that your nakedness be not uncovered on it.

²⁶ A righteous man falling down before the wicked is like a troubled fountain and a rotten spring.

¹ And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain. And when He had sat down, His disciples came to Him. ² And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying, ³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. ¹³ You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men. ¹⁴ You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. ¹⁷ Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For truly I say to you, Till the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. ¹⁹ Therefore whoever shall relax one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. ²⁰ For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven. ²¹ You have heard that it was said to the ancients, "You shall not kill" --and, "Whoever shall kill shall be liable to the judgment." ²² But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be liable to the judgment. And whoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the sanhedrin; but whoever shall say, Fool! shall be liable to be thrown into the fire of hell. ²³ Therefore if you offer your gift on the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. ²⁵ Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; that the opponent not deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. ²⁶ Truly I say to you, You shall by no means come out from there until you have paid the last kodrantes. ²⁷ You have heard that it was said to the ancients, "You shall not commit adultery." ²⁸ But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ²⁹ And if your right eye offends you, pluck it out and throw it from you. For it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be thrown into hell. ³⁰ And if your right hand offends you, cut it off and throw it from you. For it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be thrown into hell. ³¹ It was also said, Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce. ³² But I say to you that whoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who is put away commits adultery. ³³ Again, you have heard that it has been said to the ancients, "You shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the Lord." ³⁴ But I say to you, Do not swear at all! Not by Heaven, because it is God's throne; ³⁵ not by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet; not by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King; ³⁶ nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. ³⁷ But let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes from evil. ³⁸ You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." ³⁹ But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. ⁴⁰ And to him desiring to sue you, and to take away your tunic, let him have your coat also. ⁴¹ And whoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two. ⁴² Give to him who asks of you, and you shall not turn away from him who would borrow from you. ⁴³ You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." ⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, ⁴⁵ so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. ⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax-collectors do the same? ⁴⁷ And if you greet your brothers only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax-collectors do so? ⁴⁸ Therefore be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

¹⁵ If you love Me, keep My commandments.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them.

¹ You shall make no idols to yourselves; and you shall not set up for yourselves graven images, or a memorial pillar. And you shall not set up any image of stone in your land in order to bow down to it. For I am Jehovah your God. ² You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My sanctuary. I am Jehovah. ³ If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and do them, ⁴ then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. ⁵ And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time. And you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. ⁶ And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid. And I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. ⁷ And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. ⁸ And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight. And your enemies shall fall by the sword in front of you. ⁹ For I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you. ¹⁰ And you shall eat of the old provision, and clear away the old because of the new. ¹¹ And I will set My tabernacle among you. And My soul shall not abhor you. ¹² And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people. ¹³ I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from being their bondmen. And I have broken the bonds of your yoke, and made you go upright. ¹⁴ But if you will not listen to Me, and will not do all these commandments, ¹⁵ and if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul hates My judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, so that you break My covenant; ¹⁶ I will also do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, consumption, and burning fever, consuming the eyes and causing sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. ¹⁷ And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies. They that hate you shall reign over you. And you shall flee when none pursues you. ¹⁸ And if you will not yet listen to Me for all this, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. ¹⁹ And I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your heaven like iron and your earth like bronze. ²⁰ And your strength shall be spent in vain. For your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the field yield their fruits. ²¹ And if you walk contrary to Me, and will not listen to Me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. ²² I will also send wild beasts among you, who shall bereave you. And I will destroy your cattle, and make you few. And your highways shall be deserted. ²³ And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me, ²⁴ then I will walk contrary to you and will punish you seven times more for your sins. ²⁵ And I will bring a sword on you that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant. And when you are gathered inside your cities, I will send the plague among you. And you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. ²⁶ When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied. ²⁷ And if you will not for all of this listen to Me, but will walk contrary to Me, ²⁸ then I will walk contrary to you also in fury. And I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. ²⁹ And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you shall eat. ³⁰ And I will destroy your high places and cut down your images, and throw your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols, and My soul shall despise you. ³¹ And I will make your cities waste and cause your sanctuaries to be deserted. And I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors. ³² And I will turn the land into wasteland. And your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it. ³³ And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out a sword after you. And your land shall be waste, and your cities waste. ³⁴ Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies waste, and you are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest and enjoy its sabbaths. ³⁵ As long as it lies waste it shall rest, because it did not rest in your sabbaths when you lived on it. ³⁶ And on those of you that are left I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee as if fleeing from a sword. And they shall fall when none pursues. ³⁷ And they shall fall on one another, as if it were before a sword, when none pursues. And you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. ³⁸ And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. ³⁹ And they that are left of you shall putrefy in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies. And also they shall putrefy with them in the iniquities of their fathers. ⁴⁰ If they shall confess their wilfulness and the wilfulness of their fathers, with their sin which they sinned against Me, and that also they have walked contrary to Me, ⁴¹ I also will walk contrary to them and will bring them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they then pay for their iniquity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the land. ⁴³ The land also shall be forsaken by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, while it lies waste without them. And they shall accept the punishment of their iniquities; because, even because they despised My judgments, and because their soul hated My statutes. ⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I hate them, to destroy them utterly and to break My covenant with them. For I am Jehovah their God. ⁴⁵ But for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, so that I might be their God. I am Jehovah. ⁴⁶ These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which Jehovah made between Him and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

⁶ knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin. ⁷ For he who died has been justified from sin.

⁷ Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

⁸ Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever.

² And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
