⁵ overturning reasonings, and every high thing raised up against the knowledge of God; and leading captive every thought to the obedience of Christ;

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

¹⁷ For, if any one be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new!

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are venerable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are benevolent, whatever things are of good fame; if there be any virtue, and if any praise be due, attentively consider these things;

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things which are in the world. If any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ Now the world passes away, and the lust of it; be he who does the will of God, abides forever.

¹⁷ that the man of God may be perfect-completely fitted for every good work.

²¹ Prove all things. Hold fast that which is good.

¹⁶ All scripture, given by divine inspiration, is indeed profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

² And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind; that you may approve the will of God, which is good, and acceptable, and perfect.
