³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but, in humbleness of mind esteem each other better that yourselves: ⁴ not aiming every one at his own interests, but every one also, at the interests of the others. ⁵ And also if one contend in the games, he is not crowned unless he contend according to the laws.

³¹ What shall we say, then, to these things? Since God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He, certainly, who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all; how will he not, with him, also, graciously give us all things? ³³ Who will bring an accusation against the elect of God? Is it God who justifies them? ³⁴ Who is he, who condemns them? It is Christ, who died; or rather, who has risen: who also, is at the right hand of God; and who makes intercession for us? ³⁵ Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written, "Truly, for thy sake, we are put to death all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." ³⁷ Nay, in all these things, we do more than overcome, through him who has loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life; neither angels, nor principalities; nor powers; neither things present, nor to come; ³⁹ neither height, nor depth; nor any created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ But he said to me, My favor is sufficient for you, besides, my power is perfected in weakness: most gladly, therefore, I will boast rather of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell upon me.

¹³ I can do all things, through him who strengthens me.

²⁶ So, whether one member suffer, all the members sympathize; or, one member be honored, all the members rejoice together.
