¹¹ Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or who inquireth of the dead.

¹⁷ Not the dead can praise the Lord, nor all those that go down into the silence of death.

³¹ Turn not unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards; seek them not, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

¹⁹ And when they shall say unto you, “Inquire of those that have familiar spirits, and of the wizards, that whisper, and that mutter:” should not a people inquire of their God? should we then in behalf of the living inquire of the dead?
