⁵⁰ This is the bread which came down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread because I came down from heaven; if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread which I will give, is my body, which I am giving for the sake of the life of the world. ⁵² The Jews argued one with another, saying, How can this man give us his body to eat? ⁵³ Jesus said to them. For Jesus knew for a long while who were those who did not believe, and who was to betray him. ⁶⁵ And he said to them, For this reason I have told you that no man can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father. ⁶⁶ Just because of this saying, a great many of his disciples turned away, and did not walk with him. ⁶⁷ So Jesus said to his twelve, Why, do you also want to go away? ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered and said, My Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and known that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. ⁷⁰ Jesus said to them, Did not I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is Satan? * ⁷¹ He said it concerning Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for he was the one of the twelve who was going to betray him.

¹ JAMES, a servant of God and of our LORD Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered among the Gentiles, greeting. ² MY brethren, take it as a joy to you when you enter into many and divers temptations; ³ For you know that the trial of faith will increase your patience. ⁴ And let patience be a perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

¹⁴ And it is to these things that God called you by our preaching, to be the glory of our LORD Jesus Christ. ¹⁵ Henceforth, my brethren, stand fast, and hold to the commandments which you have been taught, either by word, or by our epistle.
