²² And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would live; but for the sake of the chosen ones those days will be shortened.

⁴⁴ For this reason, you also be ready, for the Son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

³⁶ Therefore keep watch all the time and pray, so that you may be worthy to escape all these things which are to happen, and that you may stand before the Son of man.

⁴ And he shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor wailing, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away.

¹⁵ Then the serpent sent a flood of water out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away by the flood.

²⁷ For they were eating and drinking, and marrying women, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed every man.

²⁶ Just as it happened in the days of Noah, such will it be in the days of the Son of man.

²⁰ Those who in the past were disobedient; and in the days of Noah, when the Spirit of God had patience, he commanded an ark to be made in the hope of their repentance, but only eight souls entered into it, and were saved by it floating upon the water.

⁵ And did not spare the old world, but saved Noah the preacher of righteousness, with his family, eight in all, when he brought the flood upon the wicked people;
