1 Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of evil men. 2 But his pleasure is in the law of the Lord; and in his law will he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be as a tree planted by the brooks of waters, which shall yield its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not fall off; and whatever he shall do shall be prospered. 4 Not so the ungodly; —not so: but rather as the chaff which the wind scatters away from the face of the earth. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not rise in judgment, nor sinners in the counsel of the just. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

5 How long, O Lord? will you be angry for ever? shall your jealousy burn like fire? 6 Pour out your wrath upon the heathen that have not known you, and upon the kingdoms which have not called upon your name. 7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid his place waste. 8 Remember not our old transgressions; let your tender mercies speedily prevent us; for we are greatly impoverished.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the counsel of saints is understanding: for to know the law is [the character] of a sound mind.
8 Hear, [my] son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules of your mother.
5 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your mind, and with all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And these words, all that I command you this day, shall be in your heart and in your soul. 7 And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up. 8 And you shall fasten them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be immoveable before your eyes. 9 And you⌃ shall write them on the lintels of your houses and of your gates.
