¹ The Proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: ² To know wisdom and instruction; to understand the words of understanding; ³ to receive instruction in prudence, justice, and judgment, and uprightness; ⁴ to give sense to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man. ⁵ The wise hears and increases learning, and the understanding ones gets wise counsel, ⁶ to understand a proverb and an enigma; the words of the wise, and their acute sayings. ⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. ⁸ My son, hear your father's instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother; ⁹ for they shall be an ornament of grace to your head, and chains for your neck. ¹⁰ My son, if sinners lure you, do not be willing. ¹¹ If they say, Walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us secretly lurk for the innocent without cause, ¹² let us swallow them up alive as Sheol; and whole, as those who go down into the Pit, ¹³ we shall find all precious goods; we shall fill our houses with plunder; ¹⁴ cast in your lot among us; one purse shall be to all of us. ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them! Hold back your foot from their path; ¹⁶ for their feet run to evil and they haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ For in vain the net is spread in the sight of every bird. ¹⁸ And they lie in wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own souls. ¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone who gets unjust gain; it takes away its owner's soul. ²⁰ Wisdom cries aloud outside; she gives her voice in the square; ²¹ she calls at the head of gathering places; in the opening of the gates, in the city she utters her words: ²² How long will you love to be simple, you simple ones? And will scorners desire scorn for themselves? And will fools hate knowledge? ²³ Turn back at my warning; behold, I will pour out my Spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. ²⁴ Because I called, and you refused; I stretch out a hand, and none inclines, ²⁵ but you have ignored all my counsel, and you did not desire my warning. ²⁶ I also will laugh in your calamity, I will mock when your dread comes; ²⁷ when your dread comes like a storm; and your calamity arrives like a tempest, when distress and constraint come on you. ²⁸ Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. ²⁹ Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of Jehovah. ³⁰ They did not want my counsel; they despised all my reproof, ³¹ and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own lusts. ³² For the going astray of the simple kills them, and the ease of fools destroys them. ³³ But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.

³⁶ Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? ³⁷ And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." Deut. 6:5 ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18

¹⁵ But if your brother sins against you, go and reprove him between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. ¹⁶ But if he does not hear, take one or two more with you, "so that on the mouth of two" or "three witnesses every word may stand". Deut. 19:15 ¹⁷ But if he fails to hear them, tell it to the church. And if he also fails to hear the church, let him be to you as the nations and the tax collector.

¹⁷ So that if anyone is in Christ, that one is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new! ¹⁸ And all things are of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and having given to us the ministry of reconciliation, ¹⁹ whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not charging their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. ²⁰ Then on behalf of Christ, we are ambassadors, as God is exhorting through us, we beseech on behalf of Christ, Be reconciled to God. ²¹ For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

¹ But working together, we also call on you not to receive the grace of God in vain. ² For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time! Behold, now is the day of salvation! Isa. 49:8

³⁰ For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." Deut. 32:35, 36

²² Cast on Jehovah what He has given, and He will keep you; He will not give the righteous to waver, forever.

¹ Do not judge, that you may not be judged; ² for with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured again to you.

¹³ bearing with one another and forgiving yourselves, if anyone has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also you should forgive .

¹¹ The heart of her husband trusts in her, so that he has no lack of gain. ¹² She deals good with him, and not evil, all the days of her life. ¹³ She seeks wool and flax, and she works with her palms with delight. ¹⁴ She is like the merchant ships, she brings in her food from afar. ¹⁵ She also rises while it is still night, and gives game to her household, and an order to her maidens. ¹⁶ She has examined a field, and takes it, she plants a vineyard from the fruit of her hands. ¹⁷ She has girded her loins with strength, and has made her arms strong. ¹⁸ She tastes whether her gain is good; her lamp does not go out by night. ¹⁹ She has sent forth her hands on the distaff, and her palms have held the spindle. ²⁰ She spreads out her palms to the poor, yea, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

⁹ He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways shall be found out.

² with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love,

⁵ But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence, filling in your faith with virtue; and virtue with knowledge; ⁶ and knowledge with self-control; and self-control with patience; and patience with godliness; ⁷ and godliness with brotherly love; and brotherly love with love. ⁸ For these things being in you, and abounding, they will make you not idle, not unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever honorable, whatever is right, whatever pure, whatever lovely, whatever of good report, if of any virtue, and if of any praise, think on these things.

⁵ But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence, filling in your faith with virtue; and virtue with knowledge;
