²⁷ The God of old is a refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And He shall cast the enemy out from before you, and shall say, Destroy!

² Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and forget not all His rewards; ³ who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; ⁴ who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with kindness and tender mercies;

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from where shall my help come? ² My help comes from Jehovah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth. ³ He will not give your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, He who keeps Israel will not slumber nor sleep. ⁵ Jehovah is your keeper; Jehovah is your shade on your right hand. ⁶ The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night; ⁷ Jehovah shall keep you from all evil; He shall keep your soul. ⁸ Jehovah shall keep your going out, and your coming in, from now on and till forever.

¹⁷ Every weapon formed against you shall not prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from Me, says Jehovah.

⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed.

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you will not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.

⁶ Jesus said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God, and you are not of yourselves? ²⁰ You were bought with a price; then glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are of God.

¹⁶ Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous one has great strength, having been made effective.

¹ Now faith is the substantiation of things having been hoped, the evidence of things not having been seen.

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁵ even from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the First-born out of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him loving us and washing us from our sins by His blood,

¹² because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

¹ For the rest, then brothers, we beg you and we exhort in the Lord Jesus, even as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more. ² For you know what injunctions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. ³ For this is God's will, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication, ⁴ each one of you to know to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, ⁵ not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do, not knowing God; ⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the avenger concerning all these is the Lord, even as we told you before, and solemnly testified. ⁷ For God did not call us to impurity, but in sanctification. ⁸ Therefore, the one that despises does not despise man, but God, even He giving His Holy Spirit to us. ⁹ Now as to brotherly love, you have no need for me to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another. ¹⁰ For you also do it toward the brothers in all Macedonia. But, brothers, we exhort you to abound more. ¹¹ And eagerly aspiring to be quiet, and to do your own things, and to work with your own hands, as we enjoined you, ¹² that you may walk becomingly toward those outside, and that you may have need of nothing. ¹³ But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who sleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, not having hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. ¹⁵ For we say this to you in the Word of the Lord, that we the living who remain to the coming of the Lord not at all will go before those who have fallen asleep. ¹⁶ Because the Lord Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel's voice, and with God's trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise again first. ¹⁷ Then we who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to a meeting with the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. ¹⁸ So, then, comfort each other with these words.

¹³ No temptation has taken you except what is human; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able. But with the temptation, He will also make the way out, so that you may be able to bear it .

² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹³ Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Then stand firm, "having girded your loins about with truth" and having put "on the breastplate of righteousness," Isa. 11:5; 59:17 ¹⁵ and having shod the feet with the preparation of the "gospel of peace." Isa. 52:7 ¹⁶ Above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the darts of the evil one, having been made fiery. ¹⁷ Also, take "the helmet of salvation," and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5 ¹⁸ through all prayer and petition, praying at every time in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.
