³ He will not give your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, He who keeps Israel will not slumber nor sleep.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty. ² I will say to Jehovah: My Refuge and my Fortress, my God; I will trust in Him. ³ For He delivers you from the fowler's trap, from destruction's plague. ⁴ With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler. ⁵ You shall not fear the terror of night, of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ of the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. ⁸ Only with your eyes you shall look, and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if you make the Most High your habitation, ¹⁰ no evil shall happen to You, nor shall any plague come near Your tent. ¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, that You not dash Your foot on a stone. ¹³ You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent You shall trample under foot. ¹⁴ Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with length of days and will make him see My salvation.

²⁴ And, behold, a great storm rose up in the sea, so that the boat was covered by the waves; but He was sleeping.

⁴ if I give sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ until I search out a place for Jehovah, dwellings for the Mighty One of Jacob.

⁹ How long will you lie down, O lazy man? When will you arise out of your sleep? ¹⁰ A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down;

⁵ I laid down, and slept. I awoke, for Jehovah kept me.

¹³ Do not love sleep, lest you become poor; open your eyes, be satisfied with bread.

² It is in vain for you to rise early, sit up late, to eat the bread of toils; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

⁸ I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone, O Jehovah, make me dwell in safety.

²⁴ When you lie down, you shall not dread; yea, you shall lie down and your sleep shall be sweet.
