¹ Therefore, brothers, I call on you through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹⁰ But when you are invited, going in, recline at the last place, so that when he who has invited you may come, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then glory will be to you before those reclining with you. ¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.

¹² For now we see through a mirror in dimness, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will fully know even as I also was fully known.

¹⁸ But we all with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord Spirit.

¹ Be imitators of me, as I also of Christ. ² But I praise you, brothers, that in all things you have remembered me, and even as I delivered to you, you hold fast the doctrines. ³ But I want you to know that Christ is the Head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. ⁴ Every man praying or prophesying, having anything down over his head shames his Head. ⁵ And every woman praying or prophesying with the head unveiled dishonors her head, for it is the same as being shaved. ⁶ For if a woman is not veiled, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn, or to be shaved, let her be veiled. ⁷ For truly a man ought not to have the head covered, being the image and glory of God. But woman is the glory of man; ⁸ for man is not of the woman, but woman of man; ⁹ for also man was not created for the sake of the woman, but woman for the sake of the man; ¹⁰ because of this, the woman ought to have authority on the head, because of the angels. ¹¹ However, man is not apart from woman, nor woman apart from man, in the Lord. ¹² For as the woman is out of the man, so also the man through the woman; but all things from God. ¹³ You judge among yourselves: is it fitting for a woman to pray to God unveiled? ¹⁴ Or does not nature herself teach you that if a man indeed wears long hair, it is a dishonor to him? ¹⁵ But if a woman wears her hair long, it is a glory to her; because the hair has been given to her corresponding to a veil. ¹⁶ But if anyone thinks to be contentious, we do not have such a custom, nor the churches of God. ¹⁷ But enjoining this, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better, but for the worse. ¹⁸ Indeed, first, I hear divisions to be among you when you come together in the church. And I believe some part. ¹⁹ For there must also be heresies among you, so that the approved ones may become revealed among you. ²⁰ Then you coming together into one place, it is not to eat the Lord's supper. ²¹ For each one takes his own supper first in the eating; and one is hungry, and another drunken. ²² For do you not have houses to eat and to drink? Or do you despise the church of God, and shame those who have not? What do I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? I do not praise. ²³ For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; ²⁴ and giving thanks, He broke and said, Take, eat; this is My body which is broken on behalf of you; this do in remembrance of Me. ²⁵ In the same way the cup also, after supping, saying, This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; as often as you drink, do this in remembrance of Me. See Luke 22:19, 20 ²⁶ For as often as you may eat this bread, and drink this cup, you solemnly proclaim the death of the Lord, until He shall come. ²⁷ So that whoever should eat this bread, or drink the cup of the Lord, unworthily, that one will be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. ²⁸ But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and let him drink of the cup; ²⁹ for he eating and drinking unworthily eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. ³⁰ For this reason many among you are weak and feeble, and many sleep. ³¹ For if we discerned ourselves, we would not be judged. ³² But being judged, we are corrected by the Lord, that we not be condemned with the world. ³³ So that, my brothers, coming together to eat, wait for one another. ³⁴ But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, that you may not come together for judgment. And the other things I will set in order whenever I come.

¹ Then be imitators of God, as beloved children, ² and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell. ³ But let not fornication, and all uncleanness, or greediness, be named among you, as is fitting for saints; ⁴ also baseness, and foolish talking, or joking (the things not becoming), but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For be knowing this, that every fornicator, or unclean one, or covetous one, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for through these the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Then do not be partners with them; ⁸ for you then were darkness, but now light in the Lord; walk as children of light. ⁹ For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, ¹⁰ proving what is pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them . ¹² For it is shameful even to speak of the things being done by them in secret. ¹³ But all things being exposed by the light are clearly revealed, for everything having been revealed is light. ¹⁴ Because of this, He says, Arise, sleeping ones and stand up out of the dead ones, and Christ will shine on you. No OT passage ¹⁵ Then watch how carefully you walk, not as unwise, but as wise ones, ¹⁶ redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ¹⁷ For this reason, do not be foolish, but understanding what the will of the Lord is . ¹⁸ And "do not be drunk with wine," in which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit, Prov. 23:31 ¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising in your heart to the Lord, ²⁰ giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, even to God the Father, ²¹ having been subject to one another in the fear of God. ²² Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord, ²³ because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the church, and He is Savior of the body. ²⁴ But even as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up on its behalf, ²⁶ that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, (he loving his wife loves himself), ²⁹ for then no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Lord the church. ³⁰ For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. ³¹ "For this a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh." Gen. 2:24 ³² The mystery is great, but I speak as to Christ and as to the church. ³³ However, you also, everyone, let each love his wife as himself, and the wife, that she give deference to the husband.
