⁸ But do not you be called Rabbi, for One is your Leader, the Christ, and you are all brothers.

¹⁵ Earnestly study to present yourself approved to God, a workman unashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

¹⁷ Yield to those taking the lead of you, and submit, for they watch for your souls, giving an account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning; for this would be no profit to you.

¹¹ And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;

²⁸ Then take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased through His own blood.

¹ Faithful is the Word: If anyone reaches out to overseership, he desires a good work. ² Then it behooves the overseer to be blameless, husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, well-ordered, hospitable, apt at teaching; ³ not a drinker, not a contentious one, not greedy of ill gain, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money; ⁴ ruling his own house well, having children in subjection with all respect. ⁵ But if anyone does not know to rule his own house, how will he care for a church of God? ⁶ He should not be a novice, lest being puffed up he may fall into the Devil's judgment. ⁷ But he must also have a good witness from those outside, that he not fall into reproach and into a snare of the Devil.

¹⁵ And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
