⁵⁰ This is the Bread coming down out of Heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the Living Bread that came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever. And indeed the bread which I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. ⁵² Then the Jews argued with one another, saying, How can this one give us his flesh to eat? ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves. ⁵⁴ The one partaking of My flesh and drinking of My blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink. ⁵⁶ The one partaking of My flesh and drinking of My blood abides in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ Even as the living Father sent Me, and I live through the Father; also the one partaking Me, even that one will live through Me. ⁵⁸ This is the Bread which came down out of Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and died; the one partaking of this Bread will live forever. ⁵⁹ He said these things teaching in a synagogue in Capernaum. ⁶⁰ Then many of His disciples having heard, they said, This word is hard; who is able to hear it? ⁶¹ But knowing in Himself that His disciples were murmuring about this, Jesus said to them, Does this offend you? ⁶² Then what if you see the Son of man going up where He was at first? ⁶³ It is the Spirit that gives life. The flesh does not profit, nothing! The words which I speak to you are spirit and are life. ⁶⁴ But there are some of you who are not believing. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were not believing, and who was the one betraying Him. ⁶⁵ And He said, Because of this, I have told you that no one is able to come to Me except it is given to him from My Father. ⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went away into the things behind, and no longer walked with Him. ⁶⁷ Therefore, Jesus said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go? ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil! ⁷¹ But He spoke of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, for this one was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.

¹⁹ Then it being evening on that day, the first of the sabbaths, and the doors having been locked where the disciples were assembled, because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them, Peace to you. ²⁰ And saying this, He showed them His hands and side. Then seeing the Lord, the disciples rejoiced. ²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent Me, I also send you. ²² And saying this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. ²³ Of whomever you forgive the sins, they are forgiven to them. Or whomever you may retain, they are retained.

¹⁵ If the work of anyone shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss; but he will be saved, but so as through fire. ¹⁶ Do you not know that you are a sanctuary of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you? ¹⁷ If anyone corrupts the sanctuary of God, God will bring that one to corruption; for the sanctuary of God is holy, which you are.

³² But I desire you to be without care. The unmarried one cares for the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord; ³³ but the one marrying cares for the things of the world, how to please the wife. ³⁴ The wife and the virgin are different. The unmarried one cares for the things of the Lord, that she be holy in both body and spirit. But the married one cares for the things of the world, how to please the husband.

¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ? ¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself. ¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith out of my works. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well; even the demons believe and shudder. ²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? ²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. ²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.

¹¹ For no one is able to lay any other foundation beside the One having been laid, who is Jesus Christ. ¹² And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw, ¹³ the work of each will be revealed; for the Day will make it known, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire will prove the work of each, what sort it is. ¹⁴ If the work of anyone which he built remains, he will receive a reward. ¹⁵ If the work of anyone shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss; but he will be saved, but so as through fire.

¹⁰ But I command the ones being married (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from her husband; ¹¹ but if indeed she is separated, remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband not to leave his wife.
