² My brothers count it all joy when you fall into various trials, ³ knowing that the proving of your faith works patience. ⁴ But let patience have its perfective work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before his face and called out: Jehovah! Jehovah God! Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and great in goodness and truth,

⁸ And he waited seven days, according to the set time with Samuel. But Samuel had not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. ⁹ And Saul said, Bring near to me the burnt offering and the peace offerings. And he offered up the burnt offering. ¹⁰ And it happened, as soon as he finished the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came. And Saul went out to meet him, and to bless him. ¹¹ And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattering from me, and you did not come in the days set out, and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash, ¹² then I said, Now the Philistines will come down to me to Gilgal, and I have not sweetened the face of Jehovah; and I forced myself, and offered a burnt offering. ¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, You have acted foolishly that you have not kept the command of Jehovah your God which He commanded you. For now Jehovah would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. ¹⁴ But now your kingdom shall not stand. Jehovah has sought out for Himself a man according to His own heart, and Jehovah has appointed him as leader over His people. For you have not kept that which Jehovah commanded you. ¹⁵ And Samuel rose up and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people who were found with him, about six hundred men.

²⁸ But we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to purpose;

¹⁰ But you have closely followed my doctrine, the conduct, the purpose, the faith, the long-suffering, the love, the patient endurance,

² with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love, ³ being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

¹⁴ Hope in Jehovah; be strong and He will make strong your heart; yea, hope in Jehovah!

³ And not only so, but we glory also in afflictions, knowing that affliction works out patience,

³¹ but the ones waiting for Jehovah shall renew power; they shall go up with wings as the eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint!

¹¹ being empowered with all power according to the might of His glory, to all patience and longsuffering with joy;

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,

⁷ Therefore, brothers, be long-suffering until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being long-suffering over it until it may receive the early and the latter rain. ⁸ You also be long-suffering. Set your hearts firmly, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.
