¹⁵ I no longer call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his lord does. But I called you friends, because all things which I heard from My Father I made known to you.

⁵ I am the Vine; you are the branches. He that remains in Me, and I in him, this one bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are not able to do anything.

²³ And He said to all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily. And let him follow Me. ²⁴ For whoever desires to save his life, he will lose it. But whoever loses his life for My sake, this one will save it. ²⁵ For what is a man profited gaining the whole world but destroying himself or suffering loss? ²⁶ For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of man will be ashamed of that one when He comes in His glory, and that of the Father, and of the holy angels. ²⁷ But truly I say to you, There are some of those standing here who in no way shall taste of death until they see the kingdom of God.

²⁷ For as many as were baptized into Christ, you put on Christ. ²⁸ There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you are of Christ, then you are a seed of Abraham, even heirs according to promise.

¹ If, then, you were raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is sitting at the right of God; Psa. 110:1 ² mind the things above, not the things on the earth, ³ For you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ Whenever Christ our life is revealed, then also you will be revealed with Him in glory.

²² for you have put off the old man, as regards the former behavior, having been corrupted according to the deceitful lusts, ²³ and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and to put on the new man, which according to God was created in righteousness and true holiness.

²⁷ And you are Christ's body, and members in part.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God, and you are not of yourselves? ²⁰ You were bought with a price; then glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are of God.

¹ See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. ² Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. ³ And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.

¹⁰ for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, the One loving me and giving Himself over on my behalf.

⁹ But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6

⁵ I knew you before I formed you in the belly; and before you came out of the womb, I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

¹¹ For I know the purposes which I am planning for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace, and not for evil; to give you a future and a hope.

¹⁷ So that if anyone is in Christ, that one is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new!

²⁷ And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.
