¹⁷ You shall not hate your brother in your heart; you shall certainly reprove your neighbor, and not allow sin on him.

²² Do not say, I will repay evil; wait on Jehovah, and He will save you.

¹⁸ He who hides hatred with lying lips, and he who sends out a slander, he is a fool.

⁴³ You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor" and hate your enemy; Lev. 19:18 ⁴⁴ but I say to you, Love your enemies; bless those cursing you, do well to those hating you; and pray for those abusing and persecuting you, ⁴⁵ so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. Because He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and unjust.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹ From where do wars and fightings among you come ? Is it not from this, from your lusts warring in your members? ² You desire greatly and do not have. You murder, and are jealous, and are not able to obtain. You fight and you war, and you do not have, because you do not ask God . ³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, in order that you may spend on your lusts. ⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whoever, then, purposes to be a friend of the world is shown to be an enemy of God. ⁵ Or do you think that vainly the Scripture says, The spirit which has dwelt in us yearns to envy? No OT passage ⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34 ⁷ Then be subject to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones! ⁹ Be distressed, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy into shame. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you. ¹¹ Do not speak against one another, brothers. He that speaks against a brother, and is judging a brother, he speaks against law, and judges law. But if you judge law, you are not a doer of law, but a judge. ¹² One is the Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you who judges another? ¹³ Come now, those saying, Today or tomorrow we will go into this city, and we will spend one year there, and we will trade and will make a profit, ¹⁴ who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a mist, which for a little while appears, and then disappears. ¹⁵ Instead of you saying, If the Lord wills, even we will live, and we will do this or that; ¹⁶ but now you boast in your presumptions. All such boasting is evil. ¹⁷ Therefore, to anyone knowing to do good, and not doing it, it is sin to him.

²⁷ But I say to you, those hearing: Love your enemies, do good to those hating you, ²⁸ bless those cursing you and pray for those insulting you. ²⁹ To those striking you on the cheek, turn the other also. And from those taking your garment, do not keep back the tunic also. ³⁰ And to everyone asking you, give. And do not ask back from those taking your things. ³¹ And according as you desire that men should do to you, you also do the same to them. ³² And if you love those who love you, what thanks is there to you? For even sinners love those who love them. ³³ And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thanks is there to you? For even the sinners do the same. ³⁴ And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what thanks is there to you? For the sinners lend to sinners so that they may receive the same. ³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be much; and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the unthankful and evil ones. ³⁶ Therefore, be merciful, even as your Father also is merciful.

²⁴ He who hates dissembles with his lips, for he lays up deceit in his inner being, ²⁵ when his voice is gracious, do not believe him, for he has seven hateful things in his heart. ²⁶ Though his hatred is covered by guile, his evil shall be revealed in the assembly.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it has hated you.

¹¹ But the one hating his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness blinded his eyes.

⁴⁴ but I say to you, Love your enemies; bless those cursing you, do well to those hating you; and pray for those abusing and persecuting you,

¹⁵ But if you will not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.

¹² Hatred stirs up fights, but love covers all transgressions.

⁹ The one saying to be in the light, and hating his brother, is in the darkness until now.

²⁰ If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?
