¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty. ² I will say to Jehovah: My Refuge and my Fortress, my God; I will trust in Him. ³ For He delivers you from the fowler's trap, from destruction's plague. ⁴ With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler. ⁵ You shall not fear the terror of night, of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ of the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. ⁸ Only with your eyes you shall look, and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if you make the Most High your habitation, ¹⁰ no evil shall happen to You, nor shall any plague come near Your tent. ¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, that You not dash Your foot on a stone. ¹³ You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent You shall trample under foot. ¹⁴ Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with length of days and will make him see My salvation.

⁷ Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man may sow, that he also will reap. ⁸ For the one sowing to his flesh will reap corruption of the flesh. But the one sowing to the Spirit will reap everlasting life from the Spirit. ⁹ But we should not weaken in doing good, for in due time we shall reap, if we do not faint.

³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy. ⁴ Because everything having been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory overcoming the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one overcoming the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹² instructing us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly and righteously and godly in the present age,

¹⁶ Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses but One having been tried in all respects according to our likeness, apart from sin.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, having been drawn out and having been seduced by them .

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise, Ex. 20:12 ³ "that it may be well with you, and you may be long-lived on the earth". Deut. 5:16 ⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. ⁵ Slaves, obey your lords according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the soul, ⁷ serving as slaves with good will to the Lord, and not as to men, ⁸ each one knowing that whatever good thing he does, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether a slave or a freeman. ⁹ And lords, do the same things toward them, forbearing threatening, knowing that the Lord of you and of them is in Heaven, and there is no respect of persons with Him. ¹⁰ For the rest, my brothers, be made powerful in the Lord and in the might of His strength. ¹¹ Put on all the armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil, ¹² because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies. ¹³ Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Then stand firm, "having girded your loins about with truth" and having put "on the breastplate of righteousness," Isa. 11:5; 59:17 ¹⁵ and having shod the feet with the preparation of the "gospel of peace." Isa. 52:7 ¹⁶ Above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the darts of the evil one, having been made fiery. ¹⁷ Also, take "the helmet of salvation," and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5 ¹⁸ through all prayer and petition, praying at every time in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints. ¹⁹ Pray also for me, that to me may be given speech in the opening of my mouth with boldness to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak boldly as it is right for me to speak. ²¹ But that you also may know the things about me, what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make known all things to you, ²² whom I sent to you for this same thing, that you might know the things about us, and he may comfort your hearts. ²³ Peace to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Grace be with all those that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptibility. Amen.

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused; I stretch out a hand, and none inclines, ²⁵ but you have ignored all my counsel, and you did not desire my warning. ²⁶ I also will laugh in your calamity, I will mock when your dread comes; ²⁷ when your dread comes like a storm; and your calamity arrives like a tempest, when distress and constraint come on you. ²⁸ Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. ²⁹ Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of Jehovah. ³⁰ They did not want my counsel; they despised all my reproof, ³¹ and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own lusts. ³² For the going astray of the simple kills them, and the ease of fools destroys them. ³³ But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.

¹⁷ Therefore, to anyone knowing to do good, and not doing it, it is sin to him.

²⁰ Children, obey the parents in all things, for this is pleasing to the Lord.

¹ Let every soul be subject to higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, but the existing authorities have been ordained by God. ² So that the one resisting authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and the ones opposing will receive judgment to themselves. ³ For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire not to fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have praise from it; ⁴ for it is a servant of God to you for the good. But if you practice evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to the one practicing evil. ⁵ Because of this, it is necessary to be subject, not only on account of wrath, but also on account of conscience. ⁶ For on this account you also pay taxes, for they are ministers of God, always giving attention to this very thing. ⁷ Then give to all their dues: to the one due tax, the tax; to the one due tribute, the tribute; to the one due fear, the fear; to the one due honor, the honor. ⁸ Do not continue to owe anything, except to love one another. For the one loving the other has fulfilled the law. ⁹ For, "Do not commit adultery," "do not murder," "do not steal," do not bear false witness, "do not lust," Ex. 20:13-15, 17 and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18 ¹⁰ Love does not work evil to the neighbor. Then love is the fulfillment of law. ¹¹ Also this, knowing the time, that it is now the hour for you to be aroused from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far gone, and the day has drawn near; then let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the weapons of the light. ¹³ Let us walk becomingly, as in the day, not in carousings and drunkennesses, not in co-habitation and lustful acts, not in fighting and envy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.
