³ So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work and I am not able to come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you all?"

²⁵ May your eyes look forward* and your gaze be straight before you.

¹ My child, do not forget my instruction, and may your heart guard my commands. ² For length of days, years of life, and peace they* shall add to you. ³ May loyal love* and truth not forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them upon your heart. ⁴ And you shall find favor and good sense* in the eyes of God and humankind. ⁵ _⌊Trust Yahweh_⌋* with all your heart; do not lean toward your own understanding. ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will straighten your paths. ⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Yahweh and retreat from evil. ⁸ There shall be healing for your _⌊flesh_⌋,* and refreshment for your body. ⁹ Honor Yahweh from your substance,* and from the firstfruits of all that will come to you, ¹⁰ and your barns shall be full of plenty, and your vats shall burst with new wine. ¹¹ Do not despise the discipline of Yahweh, my child. Do not be weary of his reproof ¹² because whomever Yahweh will love, he will rebuke, as a father delights in his son. ¹³ Happy is _⌊the one_⌋* who finds wisdom, and one who obtains understanding. ¹⁴ For her* income is better than the income of silver, and her revenue than that of gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and all your desires shall not compare with her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life for those who seize her; those who take hold of her are considered happy. ¹⁹ Yahweh in wisdom founded the earth; he established the heavens in understanding. ²⁰ With his knowledge, depths broke open, and clouds dropped dew. ²¹ My child, may they* not escape from your _⌊sight_⌋;* may you keep sound wisdom and prudence. ²² They shall be life for your soul* and adornment* for your neck. ²³ Then you will walk in the confidence of your ways, and your foot will not stumble. ²⁴ If you sit down, you will not panic,* and if you lie down, then your sleep shall be sweet. ²⁵ Do not be afraid of sudden panic,* or the storm of wickedness that will come. ²⁶ Yahweh will be _⌊your confidence_⌋* and guard your foot from capture. ²⁷ Do not withhold good from its owner* when it is in the power of your hand to do. ²⁸ Do not say to your neighbor, "Go and return and tomorrow I will give it," _⌊when it is with you_⌋.* ²⁹ Do not plot harm against your neighbor who dwells in confidence beside you. ³⁰ Do not quarrel with anyone without cause, when he did not do you harm. ³¹ Do not envy a man of violence, and do not choose any of his ways, ³² for he who is perverse is an abomination of Yahweh, but those who are upright are his confidence. ³³ The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked, and the abode of the righteous ones he blesses. ³⁴ With those who scorn, he is scornful, but to those who are humble, he gives favor. ³⁵ They will inherit the honor of the wise, but stubborn fools, disgrace.

³⁶ But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

⁴ For whatever was written beforehand was written for our instruction, in order that through patient endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

¹¹ And do this because you* know the time, that it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we believed.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not jealous, it does not boast, it does not become conceited, ⁵ it does not behave dishonorably, it _⌊is not selfish_⌋*, it does not become angry, it does not keep a record of wrongs,

²⁹ _⌊No rotten word must proceed_⌋* from your mouth, but only something good for the building up of the need, in order that it may give grace to those who hear,

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you; you must not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, indeed I will help you, indeed I will take hold of you with the right hand of my salvation.

¹³ "Enter through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it, ¹⁴ because narrow* is the gate and constricted is the road that leads to life, and there are few who find it!

⁴¹ But the Lord answered and* said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things! ⁴² But few things are necessary, or only one thing,* for Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."

¹³ I am able to do all things by the one who strengthens me.

²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹ Therefore, since* we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, putting aside every weight and _⌊the sin that so easily ensnares us_⌋*, let us run with patient endurance the race that has been set before us, ² fixing our eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹³ But the one who endures to the end—this person will be saved.

² And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

³ Commit your work to Yahweh, and your plans will be established.

¹² Not that I have already received this,* or have already been made perfect, but I press on if indeed I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ.* ¹³ Brothers, I do not consider myself to have laid hold of it.* But I do one thing, forgetting the things behind and straining toward the things ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
