¹ And Moses answered, and he said, "And if they do not believe me and they do not listen to my voice, but they say, 'Yahweh did not appear to you?'"

¹⁰ Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go, you must wash seven times in the Jordan, then your flesh shall return to you, and you shall be clean." ¹¹ But Naaman became angry and he went and said, "Look, I said to myself, 'Surely he will come out, stand, call upon the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hands over the spot; then he would take away the skin disease.' ¹² Are not the Abana and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all of the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them that I may be clean?" Then he turned and left in anger. ¹³ But his servants came near and spoke to him and said, "My father, if the prophet had spoken a difficult thing to you to do, would you not have done it? Why not even when he says to you, 'Wash and you shall be clean'?" ¹⁴ So he went down and plunged into the Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh returned as the flesh of a small boy, and he was clean.

⁷ But Yahweh said to me, "You must not say, 'I am a youth,'* for to _⌊whomever_⌋* I send you, you will go, and _⌊whatever_⌋* I command you, you will speak. ⁸ _⌊Do not be afraid of them_⌋,* for I am with you to deliver you," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

⁹ The Lord is not delaying the promise, as some consider slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he* does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.

¹² And the man* replied,* "The woman whom you gave to be with me—she gave to me from the tree and I ate."

¹² The angel of Yahweh appeared to him and said to him, "Yahweh is with you, _⌊you mighty warrior_⌋."* ¹³ Gideon said to him, "Excuse me, my lord. If Yahweh is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonderful deeds that our ancestors* recounted to us, saying, 'Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt?' But now Yahweh has forsaken us; he has given us into the palm of Midian." ¹⁴ And Yahweh turned to him and said, "Go in this your strength, and you will deliver Israel from the palm of Midian. Did I not send you?" ¹⁵ He said to him, "Excuse me, my lord. How will I deliver Israel? Look, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father's house." ¹⁶ And Yahweh said to him, "But I will be with you, and you will defeat Midian _⌊as if they are one man_⌋."* ¹⁷ And he* said to him, "Please, if I have found favor in your eyes, _⌊show me a sign_⌋* that you are speaking with me.

²¹ And another of the disciples* said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."

¹ Therefore you are without excuse, O man, every one of you who passes judgment. For in that which you pass judgment on someone else, you condemn yourself, for you who are passing judgment are doing the same things. ² Now we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who do such things. ³ But do you think this, O man who passes judgment on those who do such things, and who does the same things, that you will escape the judgment of God? ⁴ Or do you despise the wealth of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God, ⁶ who will reward each one according to his works: ⁷ to those who, by perseverance in good work, seek glory and honor and immortality, eternal life, ⁸ but to those who act from selfish ambition and who disobey the truth, but who obey unrighteousness, wrath and anger. ⁹ There will be affliction and distress for every _⌊human being_⌋* who does evil, of the Jew first and of the Greek, ¹⁰ but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and to the Greek. ¹¹ For there is no partiality with God. ¹² For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. ¹³ For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous.* ¹⁴ For whenever the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature the things of the law, these, although they* do not have the law, are a law to themselves, ¹⁵ who show the work of the law written on their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts one after another accusing or even defending them ¹⁶ on the day when God judges the secret things of people, according to my gospel, through* Christ Jesus. ¹⁷ But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in God ¹⁸ and know his will and approve the things that are superior, because you* are instructed by the law, ¹⁹ and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth in the law. ²¹ Therefore, the one who teaches someone else, do you not teach yourself? The one who preaches not to steal, do you steal? ²² The one who says not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? The one who abhors idols, do you rob temples? ²³ Who boast in the law, by the transgression of the law you dishonor God!* ²⁴ For just as it is written, "The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."* ²⁵ For circumcision is of value if you do the law, but if you should be a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. ²⁶ Therefore, if the uncircumcised person follows the requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be credited for circumcision? ²⁷ And the uncircumcised person by nature who carries out the law will judge you who, though provided with _⌊the precise written code_⌋* and circumcision are a transgressor of the law. ²⁸ For the Jew is not _⌊one outwardly_⌋*, nor is circumcision _⌊outwardly_⌋*, in the flesh. ²⁹ But the Jew _⌊is one inwardly_⌋*, and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter, whose praise is not from people but from God.

²⁰ For from the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, both his eternal power and deity, are discerned clearly, being understood in the things created, so that they are without excuse.

¹ Therefore you are without excuse, O man, every one of you who passes judgment. For in that which you pass judgment on someone else, you condemn yourself, for you who are passing judgment are doing the same things.

¹³ Then* Yahweh God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

⁴ And the word of Yahweh came to me, _⌊saying_⌋,* ⁵ "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you came out from the womb I consecrated you; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." ⁶ Then I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh! Look, I do not know how to speak, for I am a youth."* ⁷ But Yahweh said to me, "You must not say, 'I am a youth,'* for to _⌊whomever_⌋* I send you, you will go, and _⌊whatever_⌋* I command you, you will speak. ⁸ _⌊Do not be afraid of them_⌋,* for I am with you to deliver you," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. ⁹ Then Yahweh stretched out his hand and he touched my mouth, and Yahweh said to me,
"Look, I have put my words in your mouth. ¹⁰ See, I appoint you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to pull down, and to destroy and to tear down, to build and to plant."

⁵⁹ And he said to another, "Follow me!" But he said, "Lord, first allow me to go and* bury my father." ⁶⁰ But he said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead! But you go and* proclaim the kingdom of God." ⁶¹ And another person also said, "I will follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say farewell to those in my house." ⁶² But Jesus said,* "No one who puts his* hand on the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God!"

¹⁰ And Moses said to Yahweh, "Please, Lord, I am not a man of words, _⌊neither recently nor in the past nor since your speaking_⌋* to your servant, because I am heavy of mouth and of tongue." ¹¹ And Yahweh said to him, "Who gave a mouth to humankind, or who makes mute or deaf or sighted or blind? Is it not I, Yahweh? ¹² So then go, and I myself will be with your mouth, and I will teach you what you must speak." ¹³ And he said, "Please, Lord, do send _⌊anyone else whom you wish to send_⌋."* ¹⁴ _⌊And Yahweh was angry with_⌋* Moses and said, "Is there not Aaron your brother the Levite? I know that he certainly can speak, and also there he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will rejoice in his heart.

¹⁸ And they all _⌊alike_⌋* began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, 'I have purchased a field, and _⌊I must_⌋* go out to look at it. I ask you, consider me excused.' ¹⁹ And another said, 'I have purchased five yoke of oxen, and I am going to examine them. I ask you, consider me excused.' ²⁰ And another said, 'I have married a wife, and for this reason I am not able to come.'
