¹ " 'You* shall not make for yourselves idols and divine images, and you shall not raise up stone pillars for yourselves, and you shall not put a sculptured stone in your land in order to* worship before it, because I am Yahweh your God. ² " 'You shall keep my Sabbaths, and you shall revere my sanctuary; I am Yahweh. ³ " 'If you walk in my statutes and you keep my commands and you do them, ⁴ then* I will give you rains in their time, and the land shall give its produce, and the trees of the field shall give their fruit. ⁵ And for you the threshing season shall overtake the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall overtake the sowing, and you shall eat your food _⌊to your fill_⌋* and you shall live _⌊securely_⌋* in your land.

²⁶ And he said, "The kingdom of God is like this: like a man scatters seed on the ground.

¹ "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.

²³ " 'And when you* have come into the land and you* plant any tree for* food, _⌊you* shall regard its fruit as unharvestable_⌋;* for three years it shall be forbidden for you; * it shall not be eaten. ²⁴ But* in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, offerings of praise for Yahweh. ²⁵ And in the fifth year you* shall eat its fruit to increase its yield for you; * I am Yahweh your* God.

³¹ It is like a mustard seed that when sown on the ground, although it* is the smallest of all the seeds that are on the ground,

¹² Sow for yourselves righteousness; _⌊reap loyal love_⌋.* Break up for yourself fallow ground; it is time to seek Yahweh so he will come and rain righteousness upon you.

¹² And the earth brought forth green plants bearing seed according to its* kind, and trees bearing fruit _⌊in which there was seed_⌋* according to its* kind. And God saw that it was good.

¹ On that day Jesus went out of the house and* was sitting by the sea.* ² And large crowds gathered close around him, so that he got into a boat to sit down, and all the crowd was standing on the shore. ³ And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, "Behold, the sower went out to sow, ⁴ and while he was sowing, _⌊some seed_⌋* fell on the side of the path, and the birds came and* devoured it. ⁵ And other seed fell on the rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up at once because it did not have any depth of soil. ⁶ But when* the sun rose it was scorched, and because it did not have enough root, it withered. ⁷ And other seed fell among the thorn plants, and the thorn plants came up and choked it. ⁸ But other seed fell on the good soil and produced grain,* this one a hundred times as much and this one sixty and this one thirty. ⁹ The one who has ears, let him hear!" ¹⁰ And the disciples came up and* said to him, "_⌊Why_⌋* do you speak to them in parables?"

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing it to grow. ⁷ So then, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who is causing it to grow. ⁸ Now the one who plants and the one who waters are one, but each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.
