⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truthfully I say unto you, They have their reward. ⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. ⁷ But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. ⁸ Be not you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him. ⁹ After this manner therefore pray you: Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be your name.
¹⁰ Your kingdom come, Your will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven.
¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread. ¹² And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

¹ And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous man is effective and has great strength.

⁵ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

⁹ And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

¹ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; ² For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. ³ For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; ⁴ Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

⁶ Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
