⁶ Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

²² Have you faith? have it to yourself before God. Happy is he that condemns not himself in that thing which he allows.

²⁴ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

⁷ In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, ⁸ Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you wert cold or hot. ¹⁶ So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

⁸ Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

³ And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. ⁴ He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. ⁵ But whoever keeps his word, in him truthfully is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. ⁶ He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, just as he walked. ⁷ Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard from the beginning. ⁸ Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines. ⁹ He that says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness even until now. ¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. ¹¹ But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not to where he goes, because darkness has blinded his eyes.

¹⁷ And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.

³⁷ But let your communication be, Yes, yes; No, no: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.

²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not quit.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
