² And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, ³ And said, Truthfully I say unto you, Unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. ⁵ And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.

¹⁷ And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto you my son, which has a dumb spirit; ¹⁸ And wherever he takes him, he tears him: and he foams, and gnashes with his teeth, and pines away: and I spoke to your disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. ¹⁹ He answers him, and says, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I endure you? bring him unto me. ²⁰ And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, immediately the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. ²² And frequently it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. ²³ Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. ²⁴ And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help you my unbelief. ²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you, come out of him, and enter no more into him. ²⁶ And the spirit cried, and tore him extremely, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; so much that many said, He is dead. ²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. ²⁸ And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out? ²⁹ And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

¹⁴ And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, ¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is insane, and intensely vexed: for frequently he falls into the fire, and often into the water. ¹⁶ And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him. ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I endure you? bring him to here to me. ¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

⁴⁷ And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

¹⁸ For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

² And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

¹⁸ But now has God set the members every one of them in the body, as it has pleased him.

²⁶ For you see your calling, brothers, that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; ²⁸ And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: ²⁹ That no flesh should glory in his presence.

¹ And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. ² And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? ³ Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
