¹⁸ But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.

⁷ The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

¹ A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.

³² And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that any of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. ³³ And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. ³⁴ Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, ³⁵ And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

⁸ But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

¹⁹ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

³³ Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves purses which grow not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. ³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this present age, that they be not haughty, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; ¹⁸ That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to share; ¹⁹ Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

²⁴ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: ²⁰ But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: ²¹ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

⁵ Let your conduct be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
